Correct, NGC 1232 from the Eridanus constellation

Hey i found the galaxy name...NGC 1232, on the cover of my Philip's Atlas Of The Universe!! Nice huh? 
*tsk* BORING!! actual astronomy is better than those fake sci-fi books 
Why does it have to be EXACTLY one of the known galaxyes?Maybe is his own one 
hm.....as i recall from astronomy studies of mine...this is the whirlpool galaxy...right? or is it our own milky way galaxy? Course, i havn't ever seen a picture of the spinde galaxy... Might be that!
