You really should use "bones" when you do icons.
Paint up where you want the eyes, nose and fangs in another layer. You can copy the face positions from other icons.

It's an icon for evil yard gnomes vampire skin, i made it becouse i did'nt have anything to do.
it's 100% freehand, i know it kinda looks like the screenshot for the skin but it is becouse i thought the icon would look good like that.
