God_Of_Thunder ,,,i tells that to Mhune and Mad_Panda
and whoever jealousin on me,,!
No where did I ever imply that I was jelous of you.
I was trying to be nice with my review, summed up, all I suggested was you change some of the spells, and balance the leveling.
After a closer analysis of the map, I came up with this new and improved review, perhaps this simplified version can help explain to the creator and his swarm of ignorant fans :
Heroes: Pure crap. You start up the map and are given 12 heroes to choose from. No single hero has anything that makes them unique from the other chasuble heroes (aside from name, model, and primary attribute).
The class heroes are as boring as hell, not only are their spells un-innovative or creative, but they are imbalanced as shit.
Leveling: At level 1 it requires 1000 experience points to gain a level. Since all defeat-able units are level 1, it takes a good number of killed enemies to gain a level. This is ok for the first 5 levels or so, but it truly gets repetitive and boring, especially after advancing to the barrens area. If you can manage to reach 15, you come upon swarms of trolls, these trolls pretty much own you, so you are forced to level even higher before you can even hope to defeat them.
I assume that it gets no better, as the 1st available quest is impossible, and there are no ways of leveling.
Save Code: Wow... the only thing you have any idea of what your doing, and it sucks. Not only have you not made your save system loop-hole-free, but it doesn't save any stat changes (tomes), gold, wood, or used skill points. If I were you, I'd just play with darky's save code (all it needs is a little better encryption) and use that.
Glitches: I found tons of glitches in your map, one of the most frustrating was when my soul would continually go follow my battle ship instead of my hero. If you had any knowledge in triggering, then you'd know you can easily fix this by:
E
Unit enters map
C
Entering unit = hero
A
if owner of entering unit = red, then set heroplayer1 = entering unit, else do nothing
if owner of entering unit = blue, then set heroplayer2 = entering unit, else do nothing
etc.
then:
E
Unit enters entire map
C
Unit = soul
A
if owner of entering unit = red, then order enterting unit to follow heroplayer1, else do nothing.
etc.
Triggers: Because you appear to suck at triggering, I doubt that you need all 333 of those triggers for this map.
Items: So agonizingly boring that I almost fell asleep when I read their descriptions. If you didn't have flashy custom icons, then everyone would agree with me, they suck. You didn't even try to make interesting items or spells. This game is almost as worse as that other awful RPG, Angel of Death (which I had the misfortune of playing). Don't even get me started on that abomination that you created (I'm quite sure you're the person that made it, though I'm too lazy to double check).
Item Drops: They rarely drop anything unique, and most items are boring and only add damage or armor.
Grammar: While this is completely irrelevant to the map, I feel that I must take pity on your awful grammar (as seen in the above quote). If english isn't your first language, then put it into an english grammar/spelling checker, I'm sure there are some on the internet.
To mad_panda:
Im sure the reason your commenting is some deep inset anger that you cant play this rpg to save your life, so now, try to look back on your life, remember all the crap thats happend to you? Now go back further, and kill urself...
You are the perfect example of an idiot.
I could almost consider this a flame, as you did not even attempt to explain to me why my review was awful. Please, I don't need your pitiful attempts to insult me, I was merely giving advice to the author, and you take offence to it?
When compared to FFO and Dark Lineage (truly the best open RPG even made [its a shame the author has never went to work on it since 0.3]) this game is utter crap. I reccomend you spend some time on this, try to turn this monstrosity into something you can be proud of. Half of the people I 'played' (this wasn't really any fun at all, it was more like torture than it was fun) agrred with me, its fun for 5 minutes, and then its boring. The people I played with didn't even bother to save their hero because it was so bad.
If you still think your map is sooo great, that I would be jealous of it, then let's recap for a sec.
Heroes: Probably made in an hour, these heroes have no deapth and very few have more than 1 learnable ability.
Spells: Probably 25 custom spells total, you just edited them from their normal melee versions. Probably took you 20 minutes.
Items: Nothing interesting at all. You may as well have just used melee items with edited values and saved on the size of the map.
Use of Models/Skins: Skins pretty much sucked, and just made the map huge. Didn't see any custom models worth nothing.
So in short, I give you a 1/5. Oh yeah! I forgot! I have to end my review with a smily like everyone else!
Edit: Don't end your sentances with ,,,, its .... and . Using commas makes you look like an idiot.
