I have updated the map at maps'n'mods and included
a heavily modified Maelstrom campaign in the Old Gods
page.

http://maps.worldofwar.net/maps.php?id=7815

*************
I am already working on a campaign that will contain Maelstrom, Old Gods and the Conclusion in one file. Maelstrom and Old Gods will be heavily modified in this last version and there will be major changes in the storylines as well. Currently, two submaps have already been added to Old Gods and there has been major changes in its plot.

By the way I would like to thank all the people who voiced their appreciation of this campaign. Without you people, I wouldn't even be considering to continue and finish the storyline of Old Gods.
can you please upload the Maelstrom map here? the link on maps.worldofwar.net is broken like the most of them and i would realy like to play it aswell :)
The map at wc3sear.ch has now been updated. Link is now operational at wc3sear.ch

Please note that I'm a lone mapmaker and I have no beta testers other than myself. Though I have already
beta tested this version of the campaign rigorously, there is still the possibility that the changes I made
could have affected some other parts of the game.

Please post here immediately if you encounter serious bugs. I'll be visiting this site constantly.

Old Gods Version 1.04d

Changes in this version

Campaign Loading Screen
- The maps Helica, Jaegel and Outlands no longer have buttons on the main screen. These maps are
all submaps and I decided to follow someone's suggestion to hide these maps. So save your game
constantly after each major event.

Models
-Mu'gra model now has Hero Glow

Gameplay
- Variable difficulty now available (Important: Note that the difficulty levels are
based on handicap triggers. This means that the maps dominated by Neutral Hostiles are
not affected). Thus the difficulty settings will work only on the maps "Prologue" and "Outlands".
- The Level 25 Warlock has been heavily modified to make him easier to kill
- Splash damages on ALL ranges have been reduced to half
- Intelligence and Strength per level have been reduced by 0.50
- Fixed a bug in the Prologue that causes the message "Clan Wiped Out" to be displayed repeatedly.
- All Heroes can now reach Level 10.
- The Channeling stones on Helica are now invulnerable.

Story
- The reference to the "War of the Ancients" in the Introductory Cinematic has been removed to
avoid confusion. I realized lately that the term "War of the Ancients" has already been used
in the Warcraft Universe.

Extremely high quality work,I never understand why this isn't in the Directors Choice section....excellent campaign like this are very rare.I love the transition system between the maps and the story is good also.Another good point is the space,a great campaign doesn't need custom files imported and this fully shows it.This deserves the Directors Choice for me. 5\5
Um... the campaign was "ok" It was kinda cool how you used those teo models of little tiny for orc and elf but in the end the terrain wasnt all that great though the ending cinimatic was drop dead awsome!! it was also nice lookin when the zeplin crossed the lava falls in the beginning of Helena.. though i didnt even see anything with the OLD GODS in it.. whats up w/ that? i give it a 3/5 :?
Great campaign, but it gets a little repetitive and old where you fight an overpowered hero, heal, go back, kill it, get a required item, then do it all over again.
Bloody hellfire, this is a good campaign! I need an update! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!
this game were fantastic
...
I found it very good, the campaign has a nice story (i am a fan of good stories)

But it ends so..abrupt... please continue with part 2, i want to know what happens when that orc guy wants to kill that old bitch of a keeper of the grove :P

My Critics: I found it a bit strange to run through enemies like a killing machine WITH A CHILD. Rofl..

And i still don't understand THE REASON, i mean, WHY do enemies stand on island as if they wait to get killed? Gife the maps a little bit more life. Who, wether he is human or demon or whatever, would stand still and wait for his death?

All those demons, undead heroes and humans you have to kill stand still. I don't really understand the REASON for this. I hope part 2 makes this a lot better.

but the rest - awesome 4,5/5 if that would be possible :?
Nice campaign, thanks!
Nah its just cus Darky's script is a bit bugged, this happens quite often.
Map Update
I have updated the map addressing the final cinematic issue.

Unfortunately the file size indicated above is 4 kilobytes! I have uploaded the file twice and it is still the same. :x

Anyway when I clicked on the link, the download size is 4.59 Mb +. This is the right download size. If you clicked on the link and you're about to download a file less than 4.59 Mb something must be wrong. Please post here immediately if this happens. I will be checking this site from time to time.
Thanks Draeloth

On the last cinematic with Mu'gra, it is a good thing that you brought it up. From my experience, the chances of that happening is 1 in 5 and I was hoping it was just because of my "obsolete computer".

I'll update the campaign as soon as possible.
First of all... EXTREMELY NICE CAMPAIGN!!! :P An awesome storyline and nice gameplay and... NICE!!! This must go as a director's choice! It's a bit tough though (maybe im just noob) but extremely fun... This could go as a campaign Blizzard had made... Can't wait for part two. It's not everyday I give a 5/5 BUT THIS... 5/5!!!

- While I remember it... The ending cinematic is a bit fucked up. no offence but a few of the fading sequences are appearing twice and 2 avatars of vengeance appears at the meeting with Mugra...
Old_Gods_J747L.w3n

This campaign follows my previous campaign, Maelstrom at maps.worldofwar.net.
There are 8 maps all in all ( 3 cinematics and 5 playable maps).
Part One is a combination of four maps linked together by submap triggers.
The maps of Part One are linked as follows:

Helica --- Terenos --- Jaegel --- Outlands

You start on Terenos and will progress to either Helica or Jaegel depending
upon your choice.

Story:
The introductory cinematic will explain all.
However, a lot of ideas are jumbled together and I struggled to make sense
of the events that occur within the maps. I hope though that the story will
not be a detriment to the enjoyment of the game.

Gameplay:
A lot of people who downloaded Maelstrom complained that it was too easy.
I have taken this into account and adjusted the difficulty to at most normal.
The game can either be easy or normal depending upon which area you to decided to
explore first. I'm not a very skillful player of Warcraft III and I don't make maps
which I myself couldn't finish so don't expect the difficulty to be hard. However,
save your game from time to time.

Triggers:
I adopted a new trigger system for accessing the submaps. This trigger system,
to my knowledge is crash free and unlike Maelstrom, you can save the game anywhere you
want without any trouble. I have also developed a trigger system to prevent the doubling
of heroes (a common problem with submaps).

Models:
Out of desperation, I imported the Timmy model from Med Mapguy's Joe's Quest second edition
since it is the only acceptable child model I could find. Since the map isn't protected I
assumed that it is okay as long as credit is given due.

To Med Mapguy: If my assumption is wrong or because of any other reason, just tell me
and I will remove the model immediately. No questions asked.

Support:
Depending upon the community's ratings and reaction, I will continue to update
the file as long as I feel it is worthwhile. Should you find anything wrong with the map,
please be tactful with your comment. I put a lot of effort into this campaign.

To the Warcraft III community:
This will probably be the last Warcraft III campaign I will ever make. I would like
to thank the people who gave constructive criticisms about Maelstrom and also to those
who voiced their appreciation of my work.
