I finally had the time to download and watch all 5 acts consecutivly the other day...
I heard, maybe about two or three months back, that there was a pair of college film majors that were using or going to use the warcraft world editor to practice actual film-making techniques, and was actually being used as part of an assignment. That wouldnt happen to be you, now would it....?
I don`y know what I can really say, since the quality of the work done collectivly in all the acts has left me, to say the very least, breathless. It has been so much a relief to see a cinimatic that revolved around the more down-to-earth thoughts of a man facing the trials of his life and facing the hardships diriven from the mistakes of his past and his reflections on such rather then a novel-esque sci-fantasy hack&slash that most cins are. Every scene, every emotion-filled and convincing voice, every camaera ange, (almost) every bit of dialogue was done to professional quality. That`s why I say it`s a crying shame that Blizzard is so Hell-bent of not having their series ``defiled`` by those who don`t work in their company that they would pass over something like this to be adopted as official maps. (well, the copywrited music would surely be an issue, heh) They exceeed Blizzard`s work in every POSSIBLE shape and form.
It was interesting to watch in such a way that one could easily see the vast improvments in your skill from act to act. Each act sported more and more difficult scenes, special effects, and layouts, so it was not only like watching the character evolve over the time, but your own skill as a cinimatics maker, as well.
One thing I found funny- no female voice actors. Back when I was making my RPG (which was later canned), I had plenty of male voice actors, but could not find any female ones since there arent many female gamers out there who would understand what we were trying to do. Usually we just resorted to sisters and girlfreinds since they were the easiest to convinve to help, but when they laughed when they read the scripts (they werent anything unsual, just average RPG scripts) and could never stop giggling during recording...they simply couldnt not take their parts seriously no many how many times they tried. Every other cinimatics/RPG make who used voices has seemed to run into the same problem, that`s why I feel very relieved that you, a cin maker of far bigger name and better talent, has also had the same problems.

I`m going to award your whole series the
Director`s Choice Award for it`s obvious features. After watching the Cult of the Damned, I could never watch another cinimatic the same way again, as well as lost hope of ever thinking to make any, knowing that people like you would be my competition.
But there are a few things I would like to point out for possible improvement:
-Kel`s speech in the second act is very redundant. he mentions Stephen to ``cast away his old life`` like three of four times with just the wording slightly different. Maybe alter his words a litte there.
-The voices and the text in the first two chapters were horribly mis-timed. I suggest just sending the text in blocks rather then adding a few words to a sentace at a time so that the voice and text would end a approximatly the same time.
-I`m running a very high-end cimputer, so it takes a lot to lag it down. I ran into almost no lag throughout the series until I ran into act 4, there It was very laggy for almost no reason (I`m talking about scenes that dont have complex particles, special effects or thousands of doodads on the screen at a time). Fires have a tendancy to create a lot of lag in cins, so I suggest maybe removing that cinimatic fire that Srephen and Kel are talking around in the begginning of Act 4. I think that might be the cause of it. (yes, all it takes is one lowsy fire to lag everything down...speaking from experience)
-The sky texture in several scenes in act 5 did not load in time, leaving the sky black for a second when scenes changed.
-The map preiview for act 3 doesnt work, and there`s a score screen at the end of it. (all the other acts dont have one score screens)
-I stongly reccomend removing the ending credits from the end of act 2. None of the other acts (excepf for 5, of course) have credits. I felt that it seemed out of place and took dramatic impact away from the act 5 credits when they finally came around. the act 5 credtis were much better done, anyway.
-I have a question about the ending, but I wont ask it here because of spoilers.
Well, thank your for spending so much time to give us Wc3 fans such a treat. I can only imagine how tired you are of the world editor after making all that that I expect not to see anything else from you for a long while.
