Map Description:
Maze Runner is a racing puzzle-map that combines the creative maze designing of a TD with a competitive puzzle. It is a completely new type of map for Warcraft, which requires quick thinking, smart resource use, and good mazing strategies.
Each player starts with a Maze Builder, which is used to design the basic maze structure using free mazing elements. The maze can then be augmented by special structures that require lumber to build. Players have very limited lumber resources, however.
Once the maze is constructed, the Maze Builder unit releases the Maze Runner. The Maze Runner is not controlled by the player, and simply runs the course that is designed. The Maze Runner can be harmed by maze augments and must live until she reaches the end of the maze. Each maze area also has a required time that the Runner must stay in the maze; exiting the maze area before this time kills your runner and means you cannot pass into the next area. If your Runner beats the required time, you are awarded 1 lumber for each second over the required time to help you build in the next maze area.
Players cannot see what their opponents are building, but they can track their progress on the multiboard and their status is updated with text messages throughout the game. When you complete a maze area, your maze is then exposed to all players, but with your special structures removed.
The first player through all 5 maze areas wins the race. The game will continue after the first person wins, allowing other players to place.
Random maze augments and obstacles are placed the same in every player's maze area, making every game unique and challenging.
