Level up in diferent jobs to earn new ones. Raid the countryside to gain treasure and experience. Complete quests to gain money and the ability to train an army. Lay siege to your enemys castle and destroy it to win.

As for music, I wont put it in unless I can figure out how to put it in without increasing size too much. And hopefully the quests will help add to the feel a little. The earlier version didnt have any story put in it at all besides the loading screen. This at least references to some parts of the original game.
I havent tried your updated version yet, but from previous ones, all I can suggest is take activly make it more in tune with the game story...as I played it, it didnt really give ma a FFT feel. Maybe even a music track from FFT might set the mood a little more, or more characters/events that occured during the Lion War as depicted in the original game.
