We all loved the original Godzilla films... And everybody knows that Blizzard based the Chimaera off that three-headed golden monster they call King Gidorah (at least, that's how I think they spell it). So here we are, a bit of very dodgy mdl editing later, with some tinting on the skin...

-quote- Make an Orga model out of the Naga Royal guard and a Destroyah model out of the Pitlord. -quote- A doom gaurd would make a better destroyah, just somehow take out the sword, and make its head bigger, and as for orga, a royal gaurd would work, or anything else that has big shoulders and a thick tail.
I think it's nice. I'll see the details in the War3Viwere.
amazing, the extra head blends in very well! 5/5
the one thats not king gidorah is orga

i think its great beacause there isnt a tri headed unit excpt the hyerd watever its called but this is a dragon its cool 5/5 :D
Coming from a true godzilla fan, this model is good, try to make something like a Godzilla series, if possible.

Gigan, Megalon, Hedorah, Destroyah, Orga, Angirus, Rodan etc. If u dont want to you dont have to. Just an idea :D
Thanxx for this model
can you make heroes 3 wyvern model?
Looks like zmey gorynich from russian tales
GODZILLA IS BACK! ^^
.... kerigan i was just joking....
Orga and Destroyah? Not monsters that I'm familiar with... Can you get me some pictures?
NIIICE

Make an Orga model out of the Naga Royal guard and a Destroyah model out of the Pitlord.
i made an icon that could possibly be used for this model

The problem with the other monsters is that there isn't really anything to start with. At least with King Gidorah we had the chimaera...
Looks even better than b4! :D make godzilla or another one of those japanese monsters.
make godzilla and then we need some crushable city buildings
Now with red eyes, longer tails, (slightly) enlarged wings, more golden skin...
Thank you "Berzerk" for your enthusiasm.
better than the last one, he still needs smaller red eyes, thicker legs, make the thing yellow not just tinted, and to make it noticable, make it mecha king gidorah...personally my favorite godzilla monster is megalon though...if you were gonna make a godzilla map megalon would be awsome
HOLY F***in HELL THATS A GOOD MODEL!!!!!!!   !!!!!!!!!

GODZILLA!!!!
Yeah, I've been having trouble finding the right shade of yellow/gold to tint the skin... I'll try to tidy it up around the edges a little too. Thanks "Final_Fantasies-7" for that picture - I haven't actually watched a Godzilla film for ages...
This passes for Ghidorah slightly better then a yellow tinted Chimera but I tend to agree with Mr.Pockets. I am really tired of seeing models that look like slightly modifed Bliz models rather than what they are supposed to be. I know modeling is hard work but these half-baked models are rarely worth the size they will add to a map. Models demand resources to be included so they should be as high quality and orignal as possible. Tweak the heads/tails some more, give it a fresh skin (gold not yellow), and you'll have a great model but as is it doesn't quite cut it. As a Godzilla fan I congratulate you for trying and hope you continue to improve it.
Um ok. So it's a yellow, three-headed Chimera... Right... Um I'll give it a 3/5. Change the skin a little at least.
stop saying what a Chimaera is as there are many versions of it in many books about myths and lengends

the model is good but it dosnt really have the look of King Gidorah besides its 3 heads, the model also looks bad in some areas but overal i give it a 4/5 it is useful for ppl that want a 3 headed dragon
OK enough with the chimera shit

as GM reminded me, D&D still got it from greek mythology (beleraphon slew the chimera while riding pegasus, and then tried to get the mount olympus and fell off pegasus and WAS WASTED)

so its done, overwith, GIVE IT UP
Okay
Now we need the other TOHO Monsters (Godzilla and so on)
Then i can make a Godzilla MAP

THERE IS KING GIDORAH, and this is supposed to be about KING GIDORAH, not about were the chimara came from, but if i would have to say somthing, yes blizzard based it on him b/c all other chimarahs are lion head, goat head, dragon head, lion body, snake tails, and plz make this model like my image
The middle head is actually a clone of the left head. It seems to work. There are two tails, or rather, one skewed a little and cloned again.

- - Now including horns on each head and a better (?) skin.
Unless the third head is not animated, this model rocks, Only thing is that Blizzard didn't base the chimaera on that thing on godzilla, Ever saw their concept art?
ahh so its an added head, im guessing its the head on the right in the ss?
A three headed Chimera could be interesting. Does the third head animate?
-VGsatomi
i dont mean to be a bitch but this actully a pretty poor model, although i could not do better myself i would hope that some attention to detail would be given. this is just a coloured chimera with an added head... maybe actully make a "new" model..
you could have done more than add a head to a chimera. you could have gave it red eyes, the ball things that are on gidorahs 2 tails. also if you wanted it to look detailed, you could have made mecha king gidorah, cuz this looks more like a 3 headed chimera than king gidorah, and that ruins the purpose of the creativity of the model. its just like using an acolyte for emporer palpetine in a star wars map. it looks more like an acolyte than it looks like palpetine, cept in this it looks more like a 3 headed yellow chimera instead of king gidorah.

heres the features that need adding: smaller red eyes, teeth, thicker fatter legs, longer tails with balls on the ends, wings go on back instead of sides with no arms, and to make it more noticable, mecha armor. to make the mecha armor, untint it and make the torso, middle head, wings, and tail balls metal looking.

heeeheeheh long post I just made dere
who cares where the chimeara came from, what did he do to edit this model???
Wow... can you say poindexter?
Kerrigan, D&D got the Chimera from Greek Mythology. It just evolved over time. In the 1979 Monstrous Manual (page 14), the only difference between the D&D version and the classical Greek Chimaera is that it has wings.

Which is just going further with the dragon theme over the serpent one. There are a few instances of later day usage where the Greek idea swayed far enough into dragon for there to be wings. But it's rare enough you could argue TSR added that themselves.

Still based off the mythology.

And wyverns are not dragons, although they are dragonlike. The difference is in size, mental capacity, magicial strength, and the lack of forelegs.
sweet but take out the tint
nice!

On the whole chimera thing, all concepts of a chimera are different every game/book has them differnetly. They usually (and in my opinion should be) a cross between several anaimals and i am unimpressed by the blizzard chimera. Just like how !!!USUALLY!!! wyverns are dragons but blizzad's are not. It's just a matter of what they want thats all lol
Roenegade, No. In fact, that's the craziest thing I've ever heard. The back half was the end of a griffin? A griffin has the head and wings (and sometimes talons for front paws) of an eagle, and the back end is a lion.

You just described a lion with snakes for a tail.
Now who should check their facts?
make a godzilla!!

and this is NOT NOT a chimera. the chimera had a snake head, a goat head, and a lions head, and the tail was a snake neck and head.

Blizzard made their OWN chimera, and the D&D one had 3 heads you retard, plus those could be any 3 of 10.

no one based anything off of each other. if you think so, youre a retard.
I think he played with the heads, the teeth are aligned differntly, but that's all I can tell.
roenegade check ur facts its goat head lion head and dragon/snake head. body is goat and tails are serpent/dragon
looks more like a skin, what exactly did you do to the model
I can't believe you did this... This is so cool. I've been looking for a three-headed flying dragon for a long time. The RPG I'm working on has a three-headed dragon like creature called Opteryx. It has only one eye per head though, but hopefly I can skin that...

Thanks a lot

Darwin
ehem guys, the chimaera from the greek mythology is halflion(front) halfgriffon(back) with some snakes(3?) as his tail witch spits fire. ok? got it?
Ghidorah. It needs to be a more golden-bronze. And I can't tell from the shot, does it have three tails?

By the way, the Chimaera, from D&D and Greek mythology: It had the body of a goat, tail of a serpent/dragon, and head of a lion, a goat, and a dragon/serpent (unless you go back far enough in Greek and see it only has a lion head, but it's a popular misconception for it to have the head of all three).

So, you're wrong. Not based off of the Chimaera. In fact, Blizzard's model ain't even close. Do you people even check to see if you have facts backing you up?
Oh man, frozen Cobra, the chimera is from the Greek Mythology. And he meant that blizzard took the body from King Gidorah from Godzilla ... not the name
good- 5!
They got Chimera from a film? Lol! Chimera is a legendary monster from a mythology(don't remember which...)

btw, not bad but not a WOW!-model either. 3/5 :)
good, but not lots of changes and the head looks strange
can u make mecha-king ghidora? the one with its middle ehad robot glowing thing in his stomach and a bunch of robot parts.
LOOOL, COOL!
lol, I hope you were joking when you said blizzard based the chimera off King Ghidora, they based it off the D&D monster: CHIMERA.

Oh, and please try to color it a bit better, I can tint it yellow like that in the editor
Very nice screenshot! i can't belive it is very cool i cant use it beacuse im working on a zelda map but in my next rpg this dragon will be da king :D
