Either you used filters, or you embossed you're details manually, to the extent where it actually doesnt look good O_o.
Anyway, i think the skins colours are too variating.
Otherwise, thumbs up for freehand.

alpha out, ummm some thing you can, for instants his cape was like paper, if i alpha'd tha leg it would just be wight, not invisible.

i think u didnt spent much attention to the other parts like arms and legs + staff
