I've seen Juice_F's Lava dragon, but i find that i needed a dragon that is a little more fiery =p so i created this, the volcanic dragon. Its my VERY first time meddling with photoshop or attempting to create a skin, so i know im a noob, u dont have to remind me =p. I have to thank Saikann for the tip he gave me on creating skins. It really helped. I hope you like my skin, and if you do use it, pls give credits =p It took me 2 days to complete it, its completely free-hand.
The wings have a really strange colour! Othervise its really good. 4/5. More red might make it a little better but I don't think thats the major problem. I guess it would be better if you didn't make the whole wings of lava...but I guess that's nothing you will change now...and I can understand that...and I also think most people don't agree with me .
ah i see, that'll be great! =D but dont forget to check here once in a while for updates =p coz i wanna update the skin summore, making it better and better. Oh, and give credits XD
Well, its my plan to get this skin and the model, and remove certain parts of the model. Then I'll use my limited mdl knowledge to make the wings and spine use a different texture, which I'll then make animated much like the ingame Water Elemental, or Alfred's Elementals. I'll work on the model for a while and post a progress shot round the models forum with this skin
hmmm molten lava for wings and spine? ill try do that =p but er... in what way do u want it to be? @_@ coz isnt molten lava supposed to be rock-solid? i dont know, but pls, tell me =p so i can improve this current skin. and yes, the red parts of the lava are still in the works, just need a few more changes before i update the skin, not gonna update once every 5 minutes @_@ anyway, still trying to make icon too =p
Even though, I'd personly just forget about trying to get the wings to look nice and put an animated texture there to get MOLTEN LAVA FLOWING FOR WINGS AND SPINES!!!...
Idea! *runs off to find old Pyroclastic Dragon model, apply this skin to it and then give it a nice lava skin for the wings*
well, its 512x512 so i can put in more detail and make the detail a little more sharper. It was Gaikann's technique for his WarGhoul, which you can find in the Director's choice.
As for the red lava, i thought of that, but didnt do it because it would make my dragon look like a cheetah, or have blood dripping out of it @_@ but ill try to get some red in it, coz i know what you mean. Still working on it
changes ive made: used Targa instead of BMP so i can do some alpha-ing made back fin and wings more "fiery" some shading in the molten rock "scales" to make it more "raised" discovered the handy "smudge" tool and made the fiery areas less blocky =p new screenie that doesnt collide with the background so its clearer to see. Changed "Magma Claws" into "Molten Lava Claws" as requested

A total robotic Dragon. With a robot-visor for eyes (Kinda like Cyclops from Xmen) and the Dragon would shoot missiles and lasers and stuff. Perhaps a different looking robot dragon for all 5 Dragon types. Like robo lights and stuff.
hmmm, was just wondering if those who downloaded my skin had any problems with it, coz i cant seem to get this skin into WC3 properly, every time, my dragon is just some black entity with red patches here and there @_@ a little help?
ooh, okay, ill redo the back right now, and update it together with a new screenie (wc3 seems to hate me >.< i cant get in-game with my new skin to print screen it) and the "molten lava" claws, more detailed wings (tho im not sure how, but ill try =p) and the spinal scales =3 juz gimme a few minutes and itll be up.
Im torn. He completely redid it, and it comes together alright, but theres some really amatuer work on the scales. Its mostly around the back, where it looks like this person kinda got lazy towards the end. The scales need more texturing and need to look a bit more "raised up".
Isn't bad for a first skin, keep up the good work =P
However, get a better screenshot using the PrtScrn key on your keyboard to have an in-game. Just the wings that need a bit more detail. I like the lava fissures on the body Also, maybe putting the claw as molten rock, not just lava, could change a little... Just my opinion.
