This is a replicate of Sephiroth`s Supernova from FF7. Therefore, i do not want anyone telling me that this spell is unrealistic. I put ALOT of effort into this spell, so if you want to use it, simply thank me. Enjoy.

This spell looks just like Sephiroth's Supernova ability! Great job! 5/5! :P

My friend and I will probs use this in a custom campaign we are making, with a couple of modifications:

1. A slight speed increase (players get bored easy!)
2. A possible change to the very end of the spell, since it causes lag.

You will, of course, be given credit if we do.

Matt i predict u just finished grade 6 why? because u compared to greek and astronmy both gr6 subjects.


1. Its december when i started. How did I just finish 6th grade?
2. Greek is not a 6th grade topic.

Also to virus, there are smaller stars than the sun that can go supernova. For example, white dwarf desities can absorb every bit of material in a star, then when they start using it, it will quickly run out and go supernova. Now plz stop posting complaints I'm done with chasing everyone for the month

Ok about the spell, it looks very good but I think it is more of a cinematic than a spell.
Then this is more like the Sun becoming a "Red Giant" rather than super nova. :P
Also super nova can't occur that way and super nova only happens to big stars, stars that are much bigger than our sun. :wink:

Well, don't make assumptions. Any gr.12 learner can make that deduction, you wouldn't know, coz you're not there yet. When you get there, this will be relatively simple for you.

Dude, i did not copy anything from any site. I merely stated something that i thought of the other night. I am highly insulted that you accuse me of simply "ctrl+c; ctrl+v" a piece of information and then claim it as my own. That is completely against my beliefs, it's plagerism (scuse the spelling). About the black hole anyway: Black holes are just shperes that are...black. The singularity, an imaginary point of where there is Infinant temperature, gravity, and dencity, is what your thinking of.

Because black holes are so massive, they exert strong gravitational forces. At distances close to the black hole, even light cannot escape its pull. Based on Newton's gravitational law, there is a quantity, called the escape velocity, that describes the speed a body needs to escape the gravitational pull of an object.


Hmmm...it describes the escape velocity to escape a black hole it appears. Perhaps Im wrong, but My scource was a reasonable scource. Need me to debate more, post it. Got to go for now.

The following equation is based on Newtons Gravitational law

F= kxM1xM2
r(squared)

Where k is a konstant, M1 is the mass of the one objects, m2 is the mass of the second object, r is the distance between the two objects and F is the force that the two objects exert on each other.

This equation (and newtons law) states that all objects with mass attract each other. So (for example) your mouse is attracted to your pc, but the force (F) is not strong enough to actually pull it closer.

Now, if one takes a black hole into account, it should suck everything into its centre instantly. Because its mass (say M1) is infinite, the Force (F) must also be infinite. Meaning that it will suck anything into it, regardless of its distance from the black hole.

Also, everything needs to be sucked in instantly, because Newtons Second Law of Motion states that F=ma
F being the force (same in 1st equation), m being mass of object and a being the accelaration of the object. If F is infinite then a also needs to infinte (because the mass of whatever is being drawn towards the black hole cannot change because starting mass = final mass if in a closed system). Therefor the objects needs to be sucked into the blackhole instantly.

So, Mat, can you explain that.

Did i make some mistakes there? Hope not.

Ok, wow, I have to say first off the spell looks great.

But as to what has been written here I have to say a few things:

1.) Apparently in your desire to be "smart" or "right" you ignored the laws of physics my unnamed friend:

lol, I am a physics major and one of the first things we are taught (and is the foundation of ALL modern physics) that all matter and energy are conserved, if this is not true than there can be no laws of physics. NONE, as in no law of gravity because the energy and mass of the earth could spontaneously change and not go anywhere, etc, etc. Hence, Mass is not > starting mass, lol, I mean honestly.... :roll: :lol:

2.) Dude honestly bringing science into the gameworld.... :roll: ....this happened at a forum of a game I played before and no one was happy at the end of it.

3.) This is not meant to be a "slanderous act" but I severly dislike people bragging and I try to only "brag" when I am proving that other people should not; since I have found most braggers "open mouth insert foot alot".

(by the way if you are going to blame "your teachers" for your error that doesn't matter as I was taught about the conservation of energy and matter in high school, so you should know about it from high school)

I laugh every time i see Pluto get destroyed. This is a really funny spell, i love how you label the planets and do saturn's rings. I've never seen this spell in FF, but i have a good idea of what it would be like. I can't wait for more.

WOW newsflash no body gives a "shit", keyword: "s-word" (you all over react to the most most most minor of all curse words, so I will refer to them as the "naugthy words") I saw what my curse word might be, but im seriously doubtful that it could do any harm. Sorry Azure lol... I'm grounded for my grades in high school. Just so you know, my parents are anal about them and I was grounded for having a C somewhere (I think it was french). The good news is that I have a pretty good idea what spells I wanna do right now.

And matt, in case you didn't notice, everyone wants you to shut up and you're pretty stubborn for not doing so. This is a comment section, not a competition. No one really challenged your knowledge of astronomy to begin with until you continued to spam this section. If you really wanna use that knowledge you have, find some person in an astronomy class who's having trouble and tutor him. He/she will be much more thankful than the people here, including me. I just hope you don't take this the wrong way, though seeing how you've been reacting, you will... :roll: (oh and I meant that you should edit your post to change the huge ass wikipedia entry to one small little link, but looking at your triple post, you don't know how to do that.)

ANYWAY, plz can i have some comments on my spell please, i'd like to improve and tweak it a bit.
A few things that i wanna improve/tweak/check:
The movement of the meteor: it doesn't move in a straight line, need to fix that
The nullifications : I tried to do it, did i do it right?
Explosions and SFX: can anyone suggest any other models for the sun and for the explosions of the planets?

btw, for question 2, Pluto in most sites I see is said to be the roman god of death, and in my books he is another name for hades. The first boom I saw him in, it was roman god of death, so Im going with that. All planets were named after roman gods

Mercury: Travel
Venus: Love, Beauty
Gaia: Earth, Land
Mars: War
Jupiter: Surpreme god
Saturn: God of harvest
Uranus (actually pronounced by astronomers as "urine us"): Air, The sky, wind
Neptune: Water
Pluto: Death

And the answer to my questions:
Brown dwarf: A "failed" star, not large enough to do nuclear fusion to make light, but still insanly large; Most over 20x the size of jupiter. Also made In the same clusters as stars.
Parsec:
Blue dwarf: A VERY VERY VERY VERY young star, giving of a blueish glow around them. Pleiades, the seven sisters, is a cluster of 7 of these stars.
Gamma ray burst: The collision of a neutron star and a black hole, giving off huge amounts of lethal gamma radiation that can stretch for parsecs.

And my List of questions:
1. It takes 10 thousand years from the center of the sun. It seem like it would take shorter, but there is so much in the way. Think of the light as a person trying to get to the end of a crowded hallway the size of the sun. They have to sqeeze through, get bumped back to start, get shoved all over the place....Etc.
2. Already answered it.
3. Proimati Centuari, about 27 trillion miles away, or 4 light years!
4. The suns actually a bright star. Its magnitude apparent magnatude is about 3.0, so it would be visible to the naked eye. But the reason its the only thing we can see at day is absolute magnatude of -27!!
5. Already answered!!

6. Both colapes on their own gravity, and they merge into a black hole.
7.Either the death of a really large star, or a white dwarf near a red giant absorbing every last bit of material in it, then using it all up and exploding from its tiny mass.
8. A supernova utterly destroys the star, while a nova Just is a huge flash of light on the surface of a white dwarf.
9. Standard state, where the universe always existed and is rapidly increasing in size, or the big bang theory, where time, space, and existance started 14 billion years ago in a insane explosion the size of all of space itself.

And wow, why did someone brag about his knowledge of astronomy when no one really said anything about knowing more than he did? :shock: Nice job copying the whole wikipedia entry but you probably coulda just given a link... It's kinda annoying when you want to see the first couple of posts.

Are you tuning me coz you think i don't know what a supernova is, or are you bragging about your extensive knowledge about astronomy.

If you are bragging, then so be it, it's impressive, even though i'm too lazy to read all of it.

If you're tuning me... then read the description. This is a replica of a spell from another game, therefor i'm not to blame if the spell is unrealistic or doesn't fit the picture of a "real supernova".

Div_s do you know anything about astronomy? Or do you think your the reincarnation of copernicus? I know far more about astronomy than you I bet. If you dont trust me, define these astronomy terms: Brown dwarf, parsec, blue dwarf, Gamma ray burst, Yellow Giant, and, more importantly to Azure wrath, Supernova. Also answer these questions:

1. How long does it take for light to reach us from the center of the sun?
2. What god was the planet Pluto named after?
3. What is the closetest star?
4. What is the magnitude of the sun?
5. Is Uranus pronounced "your anus", or "urine us"?
6. What happens if 2 neutron stars colide?
7. There are 2 ways that supernove can happen. Name them!!
8. Define the difference between a nova and a supernova.
9. Name the 2 theories that tell the origin of the universe.
10, the easiest of them all. If Mass > starting mass, which it is right now, there will eventually be an end to the universe called the ______ __________.

If You miss none or only one (WITHOUT CHEATING THAT IS!!!!!!!) Then I'll speak to you again!

Yeah, i wanted to cut down on file size, so i decided to make my own saturn. And, yeah it is long, but hopefully FF7 fans will aprove.
I'm putting it in my campaign coz i love cinematic spells (you should have noticed by now).

I think in multiplayer games cinematic spells are out, but i think in a 1 player game they won't be too bad.

I dunno what spell to do next. Anybody who can suggest a final fantasy summon that i should do (i've seen all of them from ff7,8,9,10 and 10-2). I'll be happy to try and make a requested spell.

Man! this spell its realy usefull if u want to know all planets of solar sistem :P
THis spell is very good made, but, u could never use it in a normal game... it takes ages to run!
but anyway, great work on graphics, just saturn that u guys used the same model of the earth but, it is realy difficult to do it, i know, gz :wink:

Howzit. Final Fantasy 7 fans, i introduce... Supernova! Yeas, this is Safer Sephiroth's Supernova spell from FF7. This is a LONG cinematic spell, so be warned. I think it looks quite cool. I also tried nulifications in here, so if you have time, could you chekc if they're done right.

Please enjoy this, it was one of the hardest spells that i've done (damn camera...)

Enjoy! constructive criticism would be nice, compliments would be better!

EDIT : PS, the planets look crap, because i severy reduced the quality of the skins and didn't dl too many different models. I don't think there are many people who would dl a 1mb spell...
