One problem I just came accross is that if you move over raised or lowered terrain, that unit'll jump up or down the same height as the terrain change. And the camera won't follow it. This is a problem in all maps like this though, so it's not a fault of yours at all. I just thought I might want to mention it.
Well as of right now, i'm gonna get this to work online first, then i'll remake it as a multiplayer map with a bunch of bonus features, including landing at your home base and whatnot.
At it's current state, i fully agree with you. However, this is the demo to a map that will be a full multiplayer arena with real;istic detection and multiple aircraft support. The other one, i think, is also still in the early stages as a lot of the triggers weren't finished. So both, i think, will improve as time goes on. But yes, the 3d (or 3 axis) movement is using vectors. The speed is constantly maintained although you go up or down; same with the missiles, and units facing angle also goes in accordance with their movement. I figured this is the start of what is to become, an awsome bnet map.
Very, very good. I have never seen a shooting system that utalizes all three axesses (that's probably spelled wrong). Usually they have a missile that is always the same hight above the ground, which is completely unrealistic. This is much better. I highly recomend that everyone downloads this system.
Anyway, 5/5. I've been looking for one of these for quite some time now.
Kinda inspired by the other pilot system submitted a bit before; this one's a little bit more enhanced; you have a wider variety of motion than the other plus, using the dummy model from Vex's casting sysetm; it creates proper facing for the aircraft when climbing/dropping altitude and shows when turning. Also, this system has a 3d detection system for missile projectiles as it stands (factors in the height distance between both the target unit and missile. Try it out for yourself. The gyrocopter also has a crossair to help aiming a bit (still needs tweaking)
