Creat a Star of Ice on the ground. The Ice gives damage to units there walk on it. The it begin to rain with Ice and there begin to come ice flying around in the air.
That shape in your screen shot. If you took my sphere, and made it so the special fx units couldnt have fly height, you'd have a shape that looks exactly like that, only there would be more rings on the inside, and it would kindov look like an aura. By the looks of it, I think you used the same object model (mana ball thingy missile) for it also...
