ok... i've just fixed my worldedit. It is now up and runnning and i've fixed up the button positions and other problems... like the heroes attacking you when you attack another nearby... and ... and ... it's the 2nd of october! satandammit i'm too late... :(

can i actually update it now or must i wait till the other valid entries have been judged? :D
Ah yes, also forgot to mention, If a soul-leashed unit possesses another unit, that unit will become the leashed one. Not only does this eliminate a banshee or ghost from your worries, it can be used to cripple opponents: e.g. on Icecrown, you leash a ghost, then use that ghost to possess an opponent's unit. When the spell expires, the neutral ghost will still be possessing the unit (e.g. tauren), so the tauren will be neutral hostile.
Uh soul theft. Not useful? it drains 15 mana per hit lvl 3 (plus the 40% health regen). Not only does that mean when fighting units with mana he doesn't really have to worry about the mana cost of most things it makes him an excellent hero killer! (Most heroe's suck without mana) Keep in mind that the mana drain also effects spell immune units.

Also, just a quick nightmare... my worldedit has stuffed up so i may not be able to add a revive trigger...

Thanks for the feedback, More would be appreciated. Rate it too if ya want. The button placement is fine for his abilities... :?
I like the special effects on the hero. He seems pretty balanced, I just don't know how usefull Soul Theft is (compaired to his other abilities).

One thing though, add a revive trigger =), and dubble check the button placement for his abilties.
heh... took me 55 editor versions to perfect it. Balancing was a bitch.
excellent work ++++++ :twisted:
Soul Hunter (Yes it's an entry for the hero making comp)
:::Abilities:::

Soul Leash
The Soul Hunter phases out temporarily, concentrating on leashing an enemy unit's soul and giving it spell immunity for a duration. When the effect ends, or the unit dies, the Soul Hunter will reappear.
Cannot be used on Heroes.
|Level 1| - Lasts 20 seconds, cannot be used on creeps above level 4.
|Level 2| - Lasts 30 seconds, cannot be used on creeps above level 5.
|Level 3| - Lasts 40 seconds, cannot be used on creeps above level 6.
NOTE: In patch 1.17, and perhaps 1.16, this spell has a chance to fail. If it does, the hero does cast the spell, not spending mana or leashing the unit, but will still phase out for a second. Also, for some reason, even though the leashed unit has spell immunity, it is able to be charmed in patch 1.17 (well mine anyway, hmmmm). I'm not too sure why this happens, and would appreciate any suggestions. I haven't put this into the spell details because it only occurs with some patches. Therefore, i reccomend you stay away from the dark ranger when leashing a unit :P (halfway up left edge of map).

Binding Manacles
Binds a target so that it cannot move, and drains 4% of it's mana per second. Also, the target will deal itself 35 damage to itself whenever it attacks. Air units that are bound to the ground can be attacked as though they were land units.
|Level 1| - Lasts 5 seconds, short cast range.
|Level 2| - Lasts 10 seconds, medium cast range.
|Level 3| - Lasts 15 seconds, long cast range.
Can target spell immune units.

Soul Theft
The Soul Hunter's blade drains the life energies of a enemy units it attacks, regenerating life and draining mana.
|Level 1| - Gains 20% of attack damage, 5 mana drained per hit.
|Level 2| - Gains 30% of attack damage, 10 mana drained per hit.
|Level 3| - Gains 40% of attack damage, 15 mana drained per hit.
The mana drain effects units reguardless of spell immunity (the actual immunity is a means of extracting mana)

Spiritual Host
The Soul Hunter allows himself to be possessed by vengeful ancient spirits, transforming himself into a mighty warrior. In his possessed form he has 30 bonus max damage, attacks and moves faster, and is invisible when not attacking or casting spells. Lasts 50 seconds.

:::Balancing:::
This hero is very able to survive on his own. The combination of Binding Manacles and Soul Theft make him very effective hero killer, especially the intelligence-based ones. He is undead, so naturally experiences problems against the Paladin... as he does a few others: e.g. demon hunter is hero-killing competition. His stats are fairly decent, although one has to keep an eye on his HP, soul theft only drains 40% hp only against units that are not spell immune, although the mana drain still occurs. You can test him out on heroes surrounding the edge of the map, or of course the creeps in the middle. I put the orb of venom in so you can test his aerial combat capabilities, but remember to remove it when testing him against other heroes, otherwise he will seem to have an unfair advantage!
