The Crypt Lord stabs the enemy, tosses them into the air, creates a spike, and the enemy lands on it. Then the spike disappears and the crypt lord rams the enemy.
More combos you mean? I am currently working on the summoning spells and people's requests. Once the requests slow down, I will take a look through some units to find one that has some interesting animations that will suit a combo nicely. If you see anything good, tell me.
At first sight, I was like "Damn, thats obviously done with JASS." You proved me wrong buddy, unbelievable with only triggers! 9/10 (The only glitchs I found was that sometimes the footman wouldn't actually be impaled on the spike, and the first thunder clap during the charge came too early.) But not like I could even get that close so GJ. I look forward to more (Or I'll run you down with my car). Uhm... (parenthesis > )
I gotta see this, I comment with an Edit - I just gotta see what this "trigger clarity" thingie is...
Edit: WAUW! I so longed to use the Cryptlord's animations on something simmilar! This is pwnage, really really neat done! 0o dont even find flaws considering team-use! (useually me biggest twouble) So, so very nice! 5/5
More Edit: I tried it ingame, and it looks awesome! Again, this is really nicely done! CG m8!
WTF! Ok im developing a spell like urs but for shamans. And when the unit plays death animation he splits in 2 ones dead and ones alive! its so weird but how can i fix it? Please help!!Nvm i fixed it but it was weird..
the flying technique can become quite irritating when trying to trigger. Maybe if you elaborate your trigger, i can help pin point ur problem because i've experienced them all. Also Ark, i think your spell (like i've already said) is pretty damn good, but...
a few things you should still work out.
1. Make it less dependant on wait commands (you have a whole bunch riddled in there)
2.Make the flinging of the unit more realistic (make the unit go about 500 high or so before dropping down, then we can see the smoothness and the small fraction of time where his movement speed is dropped to 0 just before he falls).
2. Also, you can make it deal damage at each hit without any bugs, but in order to do so, your trigger has to be stable all the way through, which it seems to be. Pretty much whenever you make it look like he deals damage, just use the deal damage trigger. simple.
Aside from that it's been updated pretty good.
Now i simply have one question
1. Did you ever have a problem with this spell detecting the units current flying height?
ie: condition
triggering unit's current flying height equal to blah
Arksword when i opened ur map i was expecting it to be some normal crappy spell.. As i gazed in awe at ur triggering techniques i realized UR A GENEIUS! Thats not something u sit at home and suddenly think... Hay im gunna make some trigger that makes everyone elses look low-tech(i redisinged all my spell after i saw urs... Anyway u should fix a few minor bugs. 1. When hes about to fly up he is sorta floating in midair for a second. 2. If theres a surviver he does not get up until ur close to him. 3. When hes floating backwards if ur near the edge of the map he will literaly fly off it into nothingness and comeback after awhile. 4. When he rams someone if they fly they sorta fly backwards (its weird) And thats all the bugs. Also i cant seem to get ur(sorry 1)agonspawns Fly height trick to work... Btw: thank you for the idea, i used it in a map of mine -- anub arack chases an invisable being and looks like hes flying around. Ty for the trigger idea
First off, it isn't my trick. 1)ragonspawn found it I think, (Fly Height Trick). Next, I just updated it. It is much quicker and fluid. I added a couple of sounds, and even added a new part to the combo, having to do with locusts and dead corpses, check it out . I also fixed that removing buff bull crap, and the auto cast works perfect, no matter if the unit has buffs or not, and whatever. It's perfect. I may create a terminating trigger and do individual damaging, but then that will greatly increase the chances of bugs, so I'll have to think about it...enjoy people. Btw, if you made it go entirely for 2 seconds period, that's even still too short. I believe where I have it now is perfect. The Crypt Lord is a big fat bug, and he ain't very nimble, so for him to do this combo in 2 seconds is, well, very unrealistic. I personally think that if he could actually do it in under a minute, then that would be an ACCOMPLISHMENT ( Jk ) P.S. What a great screen shot. It's so gory, and it gives you a great idea of what the spell is like :-)
ok so 1.5 might be a little short. But i got it down a fair amount to around 2 seconds. The way mine is different i took out all of those wait 0.1 seconds because they really wait 0.3 seconds (that's the shortest the wait commands work; it's a bug with the editor itself)so i got rid of a bunch of those, spead is speading movements up and also made him hit his unit not so high and simply make a trigger have him cast the impale when the unit is at a certain height. I;ve come to realize it's quite a genius spell not because it's falshy or cool, but because you seem to have discovered a way around having to make a dummy unit to change flying height, which is good. For that, you've helped me a whole lot with that trick. Anyways, yeah your spell is good but it WAS slow. Now that you've modded it, i'm sure it's excellent. It also seems bug free and has no screw ups, but i have an idea for you; why don;t you deal smaller damages each time he would normally deal damage and size each amount u correctly; then make a failure trigger to disable certain things should your hero die while performing it. other than that, good job man and thanks for the trick (evemn though you didn't actually tell me, keeping your map open helped me a bunch at solving a gae-old problem)
I'll update again and make it faster and more fluid. The animations change everytime. Sometimes he when he stabs and throws, it's perfect, and others, it's off by alittle bit. Making this combo last in 1.5 seconds altogether is bull shit. That is impossible, or atleast it'll look like shit. But I will work on the timing and all that anyways, add sounds, and a few more animations.
a few things: ! it needs to be changed to be lag friendly as sometimes the spike doesn't pop up right away.
2. Don't mkae it last so long, it would be better if it took all of 1-2.5 seconds. I mean, stabing and launching his unit up takes way too much time.
Plus if you die, i'll bet you didn't think of how to tally the total damage deal. I dunno, it would be cooler if you added the damage as he did it rather than add all at the end. Then it would be easy to integrate a failure trigger. And i suppose it's the first true multiple movements combo i've every seen but it doesn't seem practical. Maybe if you can shorten it to about 1/5 the wait time (about 1.5 seconds,) then you'll have something really good.
Still, i'll give you 3.5 for effort and origionality but u lose on practicality.
I still enjoyed this spell and you've managed to make it incredibly smooth. I'd suggest to imtprove the time, increase the speed of his movements to twice as fast. Also, his beginning impale animation should only last a split second. Another way you could fix it would be to make the footman not be luanched so high.
But all in all it.s a pretty god spell. Good job.
Just one question. I can't seem to find how you got ur units to fly without replacing them with a dummy unit. Now what i've figured out is that by giving them an alternate form that's flying, that then that allows their height to be modified by the change height triggers.
[update] Ok, so i've taken a look at ur skill and it's not bad but ur not cleaining up the little that you can (ie anims that u used need to be destroyed-it won't effect the FX but will keep the FX from leaking.)
Also i sped it up a bit and made it a little more realistic 9he doesn't disappear when he's hit.)
Something is messed up. I added the information, but it won't show up on the spell information stuff. Ohwell. The spell is called Impale and Ram Combo, for the Crypt Lord. He impales the enemy through the chest with the horn in his head. He waits a split second, then jumps with the enemy still on his horn, then tosses them up into the air. While the enemy is air born, he smashes the ground, causing a spike to rise. The enemy falls back down and lands on the giant spike, and slips slowly down it bleeding heavily. Then the spike goes back into the ground, leaving the enemy on its back, while the crypt lord flys away from his enemy, lands, then dashes at full speed at it, smashing into it, and pushing it back a short distance. The first combo spell I think? ENJOY
Btw, it would be a good idea to use a little more inspiring name than "Just another Warcraft III map" and a description wouldn't be bad. Also those things will increase the times of download.
