How Can I attack a skin to a custom model?

I have been able to import a custom made model that I made and its skin to wc3 , I just dont know how to attach a skin to it. I use Gmax. The model in gmax has a texture its just when I export it that it does not. The whole model is the players color once imported. I think thats all the info I can give.

So is there somthing i have to do that links the model and skin together?

There's a little part called Textures or somesuch

Look in a normal model and copy it over I guess

Iv looked at normal models they dont have any skin on them but when imported they do. I dont understand I must be missing something.

The textures part tells which texture is on the model

ya.... there not a simgle place in all of Gmax that says the word Texture.
If it did that I would have already figured this out on my own.

Gmax? Who's talking about Gmax?

I'm talking about in the actual mdl of the file

Corse you'll need to rewrap the skin and all

Let me get this right, Your telling me I have to go into the mdl while its in word format and rewrap the skin to the model? That seems like a lot of work.
ok so if its

Textures 1 {
Bitmap {
Image "",
ReplaceableId 1,
}
}

then I change what part to what?
If the skin is call MySkin Where do I set it and how do I rewrap it?

Yeah

And no, you don't need to wrap the model in wordpad/notepad. There are programs that can do this for us

www.oinkerwinkle.com/tools

Look for the Vertex Modifier. It has an inbuilt UV wrap changer

oh thank you.

Iv tryed opening my model with it but I get an error:

Run-time error '9':
Subscript out of range

So I opend a wc3 model and see how it was supose to work. I found it only selects Geoset. I tryed to turn my model into a geoset. but I can only change it to a edit poly, edit mech,and edit pach modes.
