Eminity Campaign, Our Models & Skins, No Credit!

The Enimity Campaign has been using our models and skins, that is great for me and I was proud to see them. However, there was no credit for these models and Skins we worked on (vigorously or not). The only credit I saw was "I downloaded some suff from wc3campiags.com and wc3sear.ch" So minor credit was given in general. What do you propose we do?

well personally i would not be here, i would be flaming them where ever they went, get thier email address flood thier inbox with viruses, that kind of stuff. anways you should add another one that is a bt more harsh, than reqest that they add credits, something like 'tell tem ot go to hell' , or 'organize the wc3sear army, and march agianst them' or 'ban thier account'

well i think you know my stance, tell them to give credit!

Well, I'm glad you're finally logged in again, Konblade ^^.

The emnity campaign, for me, is just another of those DOTA crap.
There is NOTHING we can do to make the creators to give credit. We don't know which realm, or username they're on, and even if they do, they'll just say: "yoU gay f****er y the hell shuld i give u guys credit"

Last of all, the creators of emnity campaign would be too lazy to look at the authors of those imports they used, so they won't do a thing.
Well, that's just my guess...
Let 'em do what they want. I didn't think some of those modellers/skinners who made Enmity's imports didn't want any credit anyways. Be glad they gave minor credit at least. Alot of other mappers don't give any credit whatsoever at all.

Hmm... List the leaders of the campaign and Oz02 could surely assure that they are punished for their actions.

Good to see some speedy responses, we cannot techniquely make them do anything. I know the server, it's Azeroth (same as me, note the "location" tab under my name) aka USA East. Names are easy to get, but even if they had an account, they don't need it to download. I tried the map after seeing tons of "EC IS B3TT3R thn DOTA" and "Enimity Campaign=Ub3R DotA=GAY" personally I was frustrated, and such when I saw this. Not because I am a DOTA fan, which I am not, it's because of the context used and figured if it was so great the I'll give it a shot. So I grabbed it via Download Only Hosted Games and played it with about 5 other guys, most were [i]very[i/] bad at it. I saw the model of the Tinker in the spider as an alternate form (found in models section 1/2 year ago) and when I saw I scanned the game game and very aspect I could. It only said where he dl'd from. Well, we can try to fix this.... I think

Find the fecker's email adress and harass him is my best solution

PM me with the user names of the users and I will warn them if you want. I haven't heard any complaints from the people who made whatever models they use, so from that I'm figuring it's not a big deal.

oz02, They could've just downloaded from this site without an account, so I guess warnings or bans are useless.

Yeah....flame them...see how far that gets 'ya. You might find sensibility will get you farther.

As soon as you past a skin/model to the PUBLIC, you automatically give permission for people to use it. In my own maps, I may not have given credit to every last resourse maker whose resourses I used, mainly just from the sheer quantity of works used, but if they PM/emailed me with a flame, I would sure as hell not fix it for them. There is no rule saying someone HAS to give credit when a resourse is used. Even if there was, like mentioned above, there is no way to enforce it. We could warn/ban their registered account if they had any, but that would not stop them from being able to download. Right now giving credits is only a mere curtousy, one which is unfortunatly not always followed. You should be happy your stuff was used in the first place...

Here's what you do: Do a little research and get the names of all the resourse makers whos materials were used, wether yours or those of someone else. Compile the names/resourses data into an easy list and email/PM it to the map maker, and with it, ask them to CnP that to a credits "quest". Make it easy for them, and the more likely they will comply. Flame them, and there is absolutely no way they will conform to your wishes. Believe me.

Sounds Good VG, I did some detective work and found that TekkVicous of Clan SOS is the maker. If you need to see that maps for yourself I can send it to you or DL it off of Bnet. BTW When was the last time anyone with much responsiblity on Battle Net? Just curious.

good to have you back kon, now here's what i think. yes, that person should give credit. i'm not sure if it's a battle.net game or not, but it should be too much trouble to write down a list of names.
now, what about search for warcraft!?

when I download like two or three stuffs from here, I give credit to the author(s). BUT, if I download, like 40 models/skins from here (which I do alot  ), I say, 'thanks to the many extremely talented people at wc3sear.ch'. Also, when I take models/skins from maps, I PM or email the author of the map, asking permission to use aforementioned models/skins. the reason I give this explanation is because I think that everyone else should do it too.

EDIT: Konblade I'd change 'Allow Models/Skins to be used with Credit' to 'used with proper credit' so your situation could be described better and I could vote without feeling guilty

Well, for my story. It's best to give credit individually either in some credits tab, beginning/end of map. But then you could try sending in an individual word file listing all credits (just send in with the map compresed in a zip folder.)
