Attachment Points

First of, i don't really know if it's the right section to put that post. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Could someone tell me the names of attachment points on units or how to find them coz i keep getting lost.
When i put a special effect on hand, right and hand, left, the effect appears twic on hand, right. Why's that?

You should make two attachments. One with the label hand and another one with the label right. If for some reason this creates the effect twice try to put both labels into a single attachment. And btw, number of attachments is 1, not two. Be careful!

If you are having a problem go:
Attachemnt Point 1: Hand, Left
Attachemnt Point 2: Hand, Right
Then at target attachments type in 2, this tells it how many of those attachments it must read.

What you (Xipe_Totec) mean by attachments setting it to two, your talking about using it as a skill, right? So it'll be something like a skill based on Sphere, with special effects changed and attachment points hand, right and hand, left and setting the attachments to 2? I tried that, exactly as you said, but the special effect goes under the unit. So, what i'm trying to do is to put the special effects by triggers:

special effect - create special effect attached to the (hand, right) of (unit) using special effect (special effect)
special effect - create special effect attached to the (hand, left) of (unit) using special effect (special effect)

But the special effect keeps attaching to hand, right. Can you solve that?

You tried using a spell and it placed them under the guy? What is the effect? Because some have specific places they are intended to be added. Example, I tried to add the Blink effect to a guys chest and it went to his head, apparently some effects have preset heights because whereever I attached it it went heigher than I wanted it to.

I based a spell off Sphere with effect DragonHawkMissile.mdx

When the game started, i went to look at the unit which was assigned the spell and found that it had the DragonHawkMissile.mdx on the ground beneath the unit. There were 2 attachments: hand, right and hand, left.

By the way, i don't want to base it off a spell because there might be some side effects, like with sphere, the special effect dies each time the hero attacks or casts a spell. What i want is to make it with triggers. This should be possible. Its irritating!

If the model is made buggy then I am afraid there's nothing you can do (not even with triggers). Send me the map at [email protected] and I will try to fix your problem.
