Can WoW Models and Skins used in Warcraft III ?

Is it possible to import Wow models and skins into a custom map? If yes, how to do it?

If you can convert a WoW model and skin file to properly work in WC3, then yes

No, the WoW model format is much different to the WC3 one so you can't just import and go

Really? Oh, what a pity..

I've been trying to crack the WoW model format for weeks now. it's very hard; but now it can only read the verts that are among rectangular faces :? ; but the faces arent even there. it's just a pile of floating verts basically.

1- Is illegal
2- You can only export textures and meshes. Which mean that you must have some animation skills. If you want a model of that quality, you can take as well the models in the campaign screens and animate them.

Thats the way Blizzard maked that format so we cant use WoW models.. simple

Nasrudin1- Is illegal.

erm. no it's not. it's only illegal if i spread them on the internet and/or claim that they are mine. this is my adventure; i wouldnt spread copyrighted shit on the internet. thats just stupid.

cant we just simply transfer animations?
its not everyone who knows how to make a custom anim, besides there arent many anim tutorials tough

stealing other's work could get u into trouble
#9
Yes it probably is illegal

No you cannot transfer animations. If something has NO BONES when converted, then that might be a problem

thats a big work then

if u have to make bones, custom anims and all necessary stuff to make a campaign screen model work, ppl who just post these models without no change in appearance deserves merit for this effort

modeling is a lil complicated, but animation is a nightmare
