cheesdudeAfter im done making the heroes can u make the hero selection system.U know u walk to the circle and the hero is selected?
Why do you want such a old laggy unflexable system to use?
Tell me if the heroes are selectable more than one time(perhaps a hero dies the player can select a new one) or not and how many teams and I'll do it for you. Just remember me at your credits Section.
Wow... we are arguing over nothing... really... This is how I've planned it: -Terrains: >Village at top left full of trees and houses and a few roads going around the village. I'm thinking about adding merchants, quest sellers, a few theif hideouts, etc. in the village with some random attacks from the outside bandits. You can aid in these battles for items, money, experience, etc. with the aid of the town gaurds behind a gate and two towers above land to make it a real nice, safe place. I MIGHT add some barbarians inside the town also, ones that can commit raids every like... 15 game days (about an hour and a half real time). >Ashenvale Forest going off to the right of the village with a bunch of creep camps where creeps will respawn (I'm addicted to Everquest and that's how it works...). I am also thinking of setting a few quests out there with some little traveler guys that randomly walk around and attack things with you. >Mountain has a very high altitude so I might add some fog to make it look like your up in the clouds. I may also get a trigger into my head to decrease movement speed near the top of the mountain due to high altitudes. If I think of any creeps up there, it's definitely going to be lions and tigers and all that. >The way into the sunken ruins is going to be the portal, so I'll make a little place near the side where you come out. In this place will be a few elf spawn camps that you can kill with a moderate level party. It'll be easy for most high levels, but if you are in the middle of the max level (also, please tell me the max hero level), you might want to bring a friend or two along to help you. A few travelers will be here also like in the forest, along with a man who will give you gold if you get him a axe, sword, or something I can come up with. This will be most likely the funnest part of the game. >Hell will be in a cave, through a tunnel full of spiders and the tunnel keeps going down. When it hits as far as I can go, I'll make a gate where if you go through it you end up in hell. When you're in hell, there'll be demons, skeletons, imps, etc. and that boss you were talking about. When you kill the boss, he doesn't respawn for 20 minutes. I might add a save/load code onto this map, too.
When you are travelling in the village, you can encounter small dwarves, elves, humans, and a jail run by the rich peasants in the village. If you go to the jail, you can talk to people who are captured for trying to kill other people or friendly NPC's (There will be a trigger that the gaurds turn unfriendly to you if you attack another player or a friendly NPC that gets a gaurd steam tank with soul steal (I'll change the model for the spell) and takes you prisoner. When it gets to the jail, it takes you outside and you no longer have control of your guy. Gaurds come near you and walk you into your cell. There is a special trick I will use here. The released person you get will be a attackless "Prisoner" while you have your real hero still in the van. The van drops your guy off behind the jail place and then it turns to the "Travelers" team. When you are released as a prisoner, the gaurds return friendly to you. When you finally get time up, you are released, you walk into an office, and that "Prisoner" is transported to your guys location and picked up by the truck while your guy is transported to where the "Prisoner" used to be. This is very complicated and I will somehow get this right).
Sorry about double-posting, but the entire idea didn't fit on one post... Anyways: -Special Triggers (You already know the jail one, I wont re-explain it): >When you are selecting a hero, this is how it's going to work: People have like a wisp to start with to move into a circle. When they move into the circle, it'll tell them that heros Abilities, Skills, Attributes, Name, and HP/MP at the first level. If they like how it looks so far, there'll be a second circle you can move onto to get a description of the hero, weaknesses and strengths, what each ability does, and all the things I didn't include. If they like it and want to choose it, they go around the back of the hero and step on the circle back there. That'll give them the hero (I'm not using the "select the hero and it gives you it" technique because most noobs want to see what he looks like in the first-person thing and what not before doing anything with a wisp so they select them. I can make a repick function, but I just don't want people getting upset because they don't know how to say "-repick" to rechoose and accidently chose the wrong hero...). >You can run your own shop and buy recently-made shops for a price about 10x all the prices of the things it sells put together. I will be making this trigger without the review of a LOAP map, so that way the creator doesn't get pissed and say "WTF I DIDN'T GIVE YOU PERMISSION!" since he, of course, is a little on the noobish side (He made units for one team have 999999 everything and all the peasants have 1 of everything in one of his maps...) I want to make it clear that if you buy a shop, you can save the profits in the save/load code, but you cannot save the shop. Why? Because it just isn't possible and because in other games people might also have bought the shop. How am I supposed to make a trigger that allows 3 people to own one shop without bugs? >You can get a job or stay as you are as a traveller and go get things. I am trying to make this a fantasy-life world in my opinion because I like realism and fantasy when it's put into one big thing.. >Deities are selectable (for those illiterate people not to know what that means, it's basically short for "Religion" or "What you believe in"). Each deity will give you a new thing to do but if you want to remain agnostic, you will get 120% experience rate... although you will not be able to have as much of the good items as other people can obtain. Be aware I will be setting the experience rate no matter what game to 25%, so if you choose that you want agnostic, you'll get 30% experience other than 25%. Just wanted to point that out. The reason being is because I hate games where you get to level 100 in like... say... 30 minutes? This time, it'll be 100 in 3 days if you played all 24 hours every day and killed non-stop. Try leveling up, it'll be harder than you think... >I stole this trigger from an Everquest map by Ventura22 who I have been talking to via E-Mail. Since I HAVE reviewed the trigger and learned how to do it, I will be giving credit to Ventura22 for making the complicated trigger. I would never have known how something like that worked if it wasn't for Ventura22, so I am going to be fair to him and give him full credit for the trigger. The trigger is that if you are 5 or more levels higher than the creep you are killing, you get NO experience. If you are 10 or more levels BELOW the creep, you get NO experience. If you have someone else kill the creep for you, you get HALF experience. Get this into your head guys, this is really complicated and is used as a difficulty setting.
Many more that I will think of will be posted up also, so keep looking for my posts. If you want to ask any questions, feel free to do so.
We can either use lvl 15 as max hero lvl or lvl 20 (make xp hard to get since there will be only from 15-25 max lvl k?)
Oh by The way what do you think about the boss i recomended?
Maybe u can also a dd a quest like this:
U find a small farm with a guy and a woman after the woods start clearing up.They tell you that their things were stolen(book, seeds etc.) They ask you to Find the thief.Hide the thief up in the mountain and make it very hard to find him.As a reward of getting their stuff back they give you some food(potions) and bit gold.
Tell me what you think of adding the Quest?
Also Tell me if you dont like something about the heroes k?
If you have any Questions on Heroes or anything Just ask.
Oh by the way Shouldnt we start thinking about The Loading screen? This is The stuff that i reccomend is either the credits screen(where humans are Fightting orcs) or You can come up with something of your own.
If You need a model for Barbarian ad u dont like using the Bandit model this is just the thing. But you should put this Kind of Barbarian in The mountains.
And Also How about adding another Quest in Jungle-cave. You Meet a mysterious old man.He tells you that he is very old and cannot do his job anymore. He asks You to find 5 spider eggs.Hide 2 in the jungle Neatly. And in cave when U put 3 remaining eggs Put lots of Spiders Guarding it.
Once you are in the End of any region make a boss. Ashewave Forest-Burning Claw(very Powerfull wolf)
Mountains-Barbarian Chieftain(The best choice will be the model of a barbarian I reccomended)
Jungle(near Enterance to the cave)-Duran(very Powerfull Skeletal orc.
Sure, the map seems to be coming along great. I'll use your ideas for each level. When I get to hell, I might have some extra space (Maybe doubted, but I don't know) where I can put another cave leading to two arena's. One arena will allow you to fight your friends in the game while the other spawns waves of creeps that you can kill for money, gold, items, you get the rest. I'm most likely going to add the two quests you recommend. So I guess we'll have to see.
I think i've made My final decision.Forget about the thing i sad before about the lvl's.The max lvl will be 100.Now i can give the lvls for bosses. Bosses: Burning Claw-lvl 12
Since the max lvl will be lvl 100 i will have to add 1 more ability at lvl 50.U learn the first three normally.U learn the fourth one at lvl 10.And u learn the final Ultimate one at lvl 50.These are the abilities im Going to add
Forgotten Warrior-Ancestors Assistance(summons The strongest of your ancestors To help you Fight Evil)Hero lvl 50
Paladin-Sacred Power of Holyness(The user Gathers All the power from Paladins In deifferent Lands to give Him Ultimate Power[Increases Attack by 100 and Defense by 7 permanently])hero lvl 50
Corrupted Ranger-Tri Darkness(This is the Ultimate Spell used by The strongest DaRk spirits. The user Summons Dark spirits That destoy Almost anything To Please The corrupted Ranger[very powerfull Death and Decay])
Forest Keeper-Living Essence(Drains All the Living Energy Essence of Any tree and Gives The life To the Forest Keeper[Eats a tree for 750 hp])
Dark Witch-Chaos Sorcery(The dark Witch Learns to use chaos Magic this makes her So strong She Can Destroy any Weakling with A snap of a finger[Gives extra 2000 mana and 750 life)
Sorceress-Amythairon(Summons The lightning, water and fire spirits. They have the poWer to destroy anything that threatens The young Sorceress.
hmmmmm, its monday i wanna know how the map is coming along and u havent been posting any stuff at all im bored.I was very exited when we were decidingn stuff for the map.Are u done with the map?
Sorry for my late response... but the thing is I have a few problems. Btw, I'm going to make the map myself using your floorplan. I think you don't have enough map-making skills to create this game, and I think that many of my ideas would increase the game popularity, not the confusing crapness of it. Also, I think there are a few handy tools on the site you might want to consider using:
-The EDIT button which allows you to edit posts. This makes your posts not gay enough to have you post 4 times every hour in a row. You wait until someone responds to POST a new reply, and if not, you EDIT your old reply. -The Spell Check or something that will make you write things in a much better way instead of "its mondey and im sooooooooo bored" I spell checked it myself and half of the words are incorrect as well as the entire thing said as a fragment and a run-on... I've never seen such bad writing before.
Just a few suggestions for you... it tends that my quality I am spending on this map makes 75% not enough. I think I'll go for 95%+, since you do not even know how to create a "Select a character with a circle" crappy little trigger. The things I can do are very advanced and you are a complete noob compared to what I can do on this idea for terrain. Thanks for the idea, though.
Kamikazzee
P.S. Please don't flame me for my insults and criticisms (I don't think I spelt that correctly... but whatever...), I have truely had enough of standing for him instead of against him. I guess I am just pissed off that I didn't do this before .
Kamikazzee...since you do not even know how to create a "Select a character with a circle" crappy little trigger. The things I can do are very advanced and you are a complete noob compared to what I can do on ...
Advance knowledge!?! Selection with circles and whisps!!? Thats one of the oldest, silliest and most shamefull things I've ever seen!! Read my comment at the top!!
If you'll use this system to select something, your rating of me will golower than 3(!).
Why would someone use the wisp in the circle crappy trigger? I'm not saying I'm going to use it, I'm saying that the type of selection trigger is going to be much more advanced with much harder triggers. Trust me, I'm not that much of a noob when it comes to RPG's. If it's a tower war or something, it'll come out worse than a noobs version of one. But since this is a RPG, I'm going advanced and in-depth. Just don't worry about it... cheesedude's not a part of it anymore. Want to help me with the map BertTheJasser? I could use someone who knows JASS.
