Best Terrain for an RPG?

Whats the best terrain for an RPG? Titelist? Custom tiles? Mix of titelists?

It would depend on the RPG itself. Different RPGs have different settings, so you really can't have a good tileset. Some RPGs could be like in a dungeon while others are like in a forest. Again, it differs depending on the setting of the RPG.

have to agree with blue on this one. there is no single best tileset or terrain for an RPG. personally found that islands work quite well, but with spacing those and trying to put in too many other things it sometimes just doesnt fit, even in epic(yeah i've done that - scrapped that terrain)
dalaran ruins (i think) was my favorite tilesett, but once again it does depend totally on the background setting of the RPg it is to be used for

-besides... if all RPGs were dalaran islands I'll bet not many people would be playing them these days :D

mine doesn't have a tileset, it loads all the times dynamically depending on where you are

in fact the entire terrain is loaded dynamically is you move around, but thats another story

Hmm whatever, I don't care much about the terrain in RPGs. But of course that its always nice to have a good terrain. I can't see a reason for not using Tilelist as usual

Sounds cool. How's it done?
