Hi i'm new to this skin making thing i wondered if someone could help or teach me a bit. at least the basics and i'll work my way from there i would appreciate it : )

Well, the forums are for helping people, but before you ask some useless question, read the sticky topics to learnt he basic, cause moderators dont like answering questions that were answered one hundred times (or more, belive me).

It is a thread with needed programs.But offcourse u will not find Photoshop ,for example, in here.
Search over the internet!

Heh .. download Image Extractor that converts blp into tga!!

Image extractor sucks.
use wc3 viewer its 100x better and also converts.
blp to tga, tga to blp and exports mdx if needs be.
