ive been working on a map and i want to know, how to you set how much experience is given by killing the unit? it would help my map alot if i could set it, or tell me what factors affect the exp given?

In the advanced-menu you find 'Game Constants'. If you scroll down there you'll find 'HeroXP'. There you have it.
