usually protected maps are just unable to open with the editor..
playing them should work without problems...
EXCEPT you have already opened them and SAVED them and then try to play the saved ones - which will be completly without triggers --> death for every fun map..
may write the link so we can see the map you have troubles with..
try to update the newest patch, to gain access to new changes which might be unsupported with older versions.
if your problem isn't solved yet, i might missunderstood you :?

Once more, NO discussion of Map Protection/Unprotection on this site.

Do Not Discuss Map Protection/Unprotection

This site does not support any forms of map protection or unprotection. Do not discuss it in any way.

Next time read the rules.
Map Protection is to keep some newbies away from opening it. It sounds a joke, but it also descreases the map's size.
Now, this topic will get closed.

Guys, don't play moderator here as long as you're no moderator
To clarify things, it's not allowed to explain how to protect or unprotect a map, but Kubel only asked why he can't play a protected map. To the question: TheHellmaker explained that very well, the map protection itself can't be the problem, would be a very stupid protection then if it makes the map unplayable, eh?

Heh :P , its also used to prevent people from stealing things from the map.

Protecting a map will drop its size only by about 2-3% (which is, what, about 40kb for a 2 meg map?)...so thats hardly an "for" arguement.

If it's in a folder, you might want to move it out of that folder. Folders cause trouble with protected maps.

The fact is that it looses size but I'm sure I will never want people to protect a map because of its size =.=

Hmm why do we need protection...

i may say you why...
1 man was so angry at me,that i'm "popular" by the mep series, that he crafted his one. copying everuthing except terrain..

Mapstealers alive,so map protectors will be needed always !
1 bad thing is that "If WC3 may play(open) map than everyone else may do it from mpq or deprotector"
