How can I play the maps I download?

I can't see them in custom game.

In the warcraft 3 folder there is a certain subfolder or however i should call it called maps, paste them there unpacked.

Well, all the files there has a paper and a pencil as an icon, and the map I am downloading has a white icon with a windows flag on it.

Should it be like this?

Right click on any .w3m or .w3x file and select "open with" then select the map editor. That will fix the icon issue.

Maps can go into any map folder and they will work. Like said before, make sure they are not still in a zip file.
