MY MAP IS RUINED!

OMG I WAS SAVING MY MAP AND THAT'S WHEN MY COMP DECIDES TO OVERHEAT

AND RESTART!!

MY MAP NOW DISPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN OPENING

"Unable to load file E:\....w3x"
-Level Info data is missing or invalid.

CAN I SOMEHOW SALVAGE ANYTHING FROM THIS NOW MENTALLY HANDICAP MAP!?!?!

I had asked a lot of questions here which eventually got resolved too. For shame!!

Always save backups. Always.

As for your problem, sorry, but you are SOL.

If BEFORE saving you test your map at wc3 , than you may find it at directory:
\WC3root\Maps\test\WorldEditTestMap.w3x (or .w3m)

yea, i wud suggest making back ups or getting a new fan for your computer :P

Well that was bad luck after all. And also, set "Save my map every X seconds" in Preferences, witch prevents map loss and problems like that.

Nobody likes a smartass. Rui probably meant that as a general note concerning map loss.

Ontopic: If the pc crashed while saving the map, it was probably still writing halfway through the file when it got interrupted, thus the file will be incomplete - unrecoverable. - There's no 'fix'.

You should be able to restor at least 25%+ of the data on the map.
When it saves a map it writes certain files at a time.
It sounds like only 1-2 files have been damaged.
With luck you should be able to restore the trigger/object data.
Uses WinMPQ to extract files from your map.
