Damaged by 3rd party programs?

about 2/3rds of the maps (RPG) that i try to download are 'protected' because some 3rd party programs or something of the effect. It already takes a really long time to load the pages so finding a map that works takes ages for me. I'm now forced to just download maps made specifically by certaint authors with lots of posts since at least their maps aren't infected.

Awesome site tho, props. Should get rid of all the bugged maps tho if that's doable. If there's something I'm unaware of in the matter, please tell me.

the maps are not bugged. they are protected. the map script if modified so the maps are playable in-game (just move it to your Warcraft III Maps folder and load wc3. you know the rest), but you cannot load them into WE.

they are not going to be removed.

ah, well they don't work in single player or network games either. didn't know about that, thanks for letting me know :D

@hotshot2k4: I'm sorry to say, but you're just being ignorant. Protected maps work on network, single player and multi-player. All said GG!
@VGsatomi: Hey i hope that's for the maps and not for us

IT is Darky's fault anyways for adding those messages, and being one of that group of people that think that Map Protection exists and don't figure out every map is open source

hey is there anyway or anyone who knows how to uncrack a protected map? I protected my map and my computer crashed and it deleted my unprotected version..

Can anyone help me out?

Suuuuure. Sadly no one will tell you because no one wants to get warned (most times...)

First of all I don't know what you are talking about, what does uncrack means to you, and what is a protected map? Every map is opensource.

Second, Self proclaimed "map protection" tools don't delete original versions of maps and they won't allow you to save the "protected" version at the same location of your map.

i didnt use any "protection tool". i just overwrote some file using a blank notepad file

Then quit wc3 moding, IF you weren't capable of knowing that you had to make a backup, I doubt you can make good maps.
