Whats best type of map to get more familure with the editor?

I know just the basics of the editor(Terrain, real basic triggers, basic object editing, etc), but what kind of map is easier to make for a beginner? Would a Hero Arena, AOS, RPG, survival game, etc be more easier to start on?

Depends. Take a look at Blizzard's maps. For example if you are making an AOS map, you should take a look at Extreme Candy War, a blizzard map from the latest patch (1.18).

Btw you made a double-topic (lol) -.-

Agreed. AoS maps are fairly simple, but have a sufficient number of triggers to help you learn the ins and outs of triggering. Those are a good place to start. If you ever get lost, ope up a blizz or costom map and look at the triggers and see how they were done.

After my opinion Escape maps/mazes are the easiest to make (thats why theres so many crappy ones :( ). They are good for starters.

If you dont know what Escape Maps/Mazes is its maps like Escape Gay Heaven, Maze Of Frostbite, Escape Shroomworld, Maze Of Evil etc. :)

If you dont like Escape Maps/Mazes I suggest what the other two said with Aos :)

Doh sorry bout the double topic :)

anywho I might try with an AOS, but one question how do I make the trigger for choosing heros in taverns? I only know of the Circle of power hero selecter.

lol ...another double post :p ...and im pretty sure it's just like a tavern but you add custome heroes in it ;) just like you would do to a shop

Hes asking how to make the player able to choose only 1 hero. If you choose a hero, you can choose another and another. And that's not intentional (duh). I don't know how to do it, but you don't need that advanced systems. Just use the circle of power thingy. It's easy, and it's good for beginners.

ol ...another double post :p

LOL!! :D :D The double action guy lol!

he can set a wisp to browse the taverns ....and set a triger to remove remove wisp after a hero has been selected....that should not be hard at all
#10
Yes, but the taverns have to be distant, or the player can use the hero to choose another. And btw, he could blink, so use this;

Events:
A Unit enters Hero Selection Area

Conditions:
(Entering Unit) is a Hero Selector equal to false

Actions:
Move unit instantly to Hero Start Zone

Hero Start Zone = Region where the hero is teleported when the Hero Controller summons him.

Ah thanks. I think i'm just going to use the circle of power thing since its easier heh.

Also about the double posts I wonder why it keeps doubleing for me. I click submit just once =/

you can use a "click the hero you want" trigger :P....i saves up space that is used up for the wisp to travel from one point to another and the circles of power.

You could delete one of the posts >_>

You can do it as it is done in Extreme Candy Wars 2004 - click a hero to know more about him, click again to choose.
