Why is this site so damn slow?

Even the forums take forever to process, is there any way to avoid this?

For God's sake stop reporting this constantly! It has already been said a thousand times! The source is probably the server.

The only solution is to be online around midnight, when few people are online. If you cannot be online at midnight, then sorry, it's impossible. Everyone is being troubled because of that, incluing the moderators, that have to watch the site.

'Midnight' is pretty vague. I mean my midnight is 6-8 hours before USA, and 10 hours after Australia, so there really is never a 'Midnight'.

I'd assume you meant midnight for either Europe or USA, but even then that's a range of 4 hours across each respective continent.

Well Whitehorn, this site eats through bandwidth about as fast as my hobby can eat through money

And getting things imported from Japan costs a fair bit. Damn shipping charges...

But yes, I blame the server, excessive bandwidth consumption and memory leaks

amsterdam? not positive but im pretty sure thats where it is.

It is absolutely untrue that there is no way to combat slow responce time but it is up to the people who run this site to do it.
*ideas*
1)upgrade server (I know its expensive)
2)make a supper compact map viewing mode where people Just see a link to download that says its name(no thumnail picture) that would help a lot
3)lay off some of the fancy boarder
4)make it easyer to get to a the map somone wants so they dont clog up the sever by looking for an hour and using the serch bar 70 times
5) more of a coment the vote system probly took up a lot of bandwipth gj removing it
6) limit the number of emoticons one can post becase A)emoticon spam=anoying and B) emoticons are picture and picture take up banwith
7)lower the quality of some images
mabe set a server limit? probly not.

emotions dont use that much space, and hes not gonna upgrade the server. just stop complaining, and clear your cache a lot. also, instead of loading 50 maps or whatever, just set it to only load 15. that will make it a little faster.

It is not a big deal, this site has many contents and it is free anyways so I wouldn't expect more
