What does these mean?(AOS, TD, RotD, DotA)

What does they all mean and w give their description please! If you know more acronyms or abreviations just post it here and give it's description so I can get familiarized on it! PLEASE HELP A NEWBIE IN NEED!

AOS -> maps where two or more teams fight against each other, every player can choose one hero and fight, all the other units are controled by AI. I think AOS refers to Aeon of Six Gods, the first AOS map I knew. But I'm not sure.

TD -> Tower Defence. A map where the players must build towers to defeat waves of attacking units, like the blood-elf-cpn bonus-map by Blizzard

RotD -> Return of the Dragons, Darky's cpn

DotA -> someone help, never played a DotA-map

DotA = Defence of the ancients, in my opinion its the best RoC custom map, but DotA TFT version SUCKS hell.

to DarkShadow - i think AoS means 'Aeon of Strife' and i think that how called the fisrt AoS map.

Actually DOTA, ROTD, TOB, AOS have something in common...

First

They are USUALLY good guys (holy) against bad guys (evil)...
for example TOB (Tides of Blood) is sentinel against undead.

Second

They ALL have heroes to play from, sections of the base to protect and army advances...

Third

Its always " protect " a precious structure of your team.
ROTD - Rebirth of the Guardians (very old AOS for WC3 TFT)

I dont agree with u dread, i think the new "Dota Allstars" is the best dota version ever. All the new heroes are just as good as the old ones, if not better.

Well... look at the date
May 5th Dota ALLSTARS didn't exist yet...
At least nobody knew it yet...

The DOTA ALLTSTARS is good but it focuses on the heroes too much rather then the team.

Completily agree... some people love TD, some love Dota.
Games like Dota get balanced on opinions of people playing it everyday... but those are always the same kind of people. Somebody that plays Td all of the time, thinks completily different that a fan of Dota.
The game will get improved so that the fan of Dota will even more like his game, but it won't help the TD fan...[/quote]
