Anyone have some terraining tips or tricks?

add cliffs, mountains, height to certain spots of terrain, and doodads. thats all i can say. im a sucker for waterfalls

theres a tutorial on terraining in the tutorial forums. cant say its the best, but i learned a thing or two from it.

well, when you say terraining, what are you trying to make? an orderly city, natural chaotic kinds of terrain? different styles can be done differently. If you want to make a city, its usualy a good idea to make things symetrical and straight. If you are making like, random wilderness, I usualy like to start with grass, and make dirt and mud along traveled paths, placing different doodads on the different terrain types, like, place flowers along the grass and place rocks and pebbles in the mud. don't over do it with doodads either, too much makes it look congested.

Im trying to make a city, but the game is based in the ninteen-hundreds, with a sort of horrific edge to it. I'll check out the terraining tutorial, thx.

Increase the size of houses and trees, rocks, etc. It makes your map more beautiful and it also looks more realisitc.

add spaces in between houses. (reference: alleys) that will add a stealthy effect to your map.

1900's eh? well if there is like a desert outside use 'noise' in the terrain section...
