Nice tutorial for skinning ?? Where?

Im trying to learn how to make custom skins. I have no idea about alpha layering and I dont really understand how the skin is read.

I also don't know what defines an area on the skin which will be seen in war3 as the player color.

I also don't understand how to remove parts of skin . ie. weapon so they dont show.

And im also wondering about transparencies.


Is there any guide that will explain this to me or will anyone else reading this try to help me out with sum advice or explanations ?

I think I saw one a long time ago, anyway its not very hard to skin. You just need the time, tools and knowledge.

Try looking at Warcraft 3 Campaigns, they have skinning tutorials there.
