i am looking for a good modeling program (i prefer a Mac program) that is easy to use does not take a lot of computer power to run... (i am planning to use an OLS+D iMac w/ virtual PC.

I am looking for a free, non-trial 3d editor that I can use for 3d editting. I would love to enter the modelling community, yet dont have a pocket-book for such programs. I was thinking of GMax, but the makers do not support the download of the free trial as of June 1st. If someone could either direct me to a free editor, or send me an installation program of Gmax, I would appriciate it. Also, if this is not the place to post this, I am sorry. I wasnt sure where to post it, and this seemed the best place.
