I dont think there is any limit to size, but there are many limits, such as how many doodads u can have, variables etc. But if u are planning on submitting ur map at wc3search i think the limit is 4mb

maximum file size for hosting on b.net is also 4mb. but lets not risk it. however, if you are talking about boundaries, then size would be 256x256.#4
, my map is in 3.84 mb, then, I can't add nothing more to it.

You have 163.84 kilobytes free, just think how many icons it is!

i think its more of the amount of objects added than the size of the objects...#7
Such a big map may take forever to download. I'd try shaving off some file space, the best way would be by removing any imported music.#8
But, when the map has a site to download, the size becomes despicable. i'm the creator of a AOS type map of Saint Seiya, Sacred War. Maybe you have never played, but it is a good map. 
I'm working on the Sacred War Revolution v2.0 and I hope it will be an excellent map.
