Multi-instanced spell contest.

____________
Well, I decided i'd take a crack at hosting a competition. I dont have any reward to offer, so this is purely for competitive reasons.

Ok, first off, you will be creating a spell that is 100% multi-instacable. The spell can be in Jass or GUI but i'd be suprised to see a multi-instancable GUI spell.

Ok, for judging: Each spell must be entered into a single catagory. Each spell is award a total of 100 points the points are judged by:

Compliance - can be from 0 to minus a one-hundred
points. (You will only get penalized if the spell
does not comply with the catagory type)

Eye candy - 25pts (Eye candy is good :))

Originality - 25pts (I dont want to see something
that has been done a billion times (IE a nova))

Effect - 15pts (What does this spell do?)

Leakless - 15pts (You will be penalized if the spell has memory leaks)

Usefulness - 15pts (Would the average map maker use this spell?)

Description - 5pts (Its always good to have a
good description. Just as long as it says what the
spell does, you will not be penalized.)

Ok, now for some universal catagory rules, simple enough.

Universal catagory rules:
All spell must comply with theyse rules, or be dis-
qualified:

The spell may not use any of vexorians spell templates.

The spell must be yours.

The spell must be triggered (obviously :P).

The spell must be Easy and userfriendly to edit .

Ok, thats the judging & rules, now each spell must be entered into one catagory, or it will not be judged.
The catagorys are:

Non-elemental spell catagory;
The spell cannot contain elemental-type sfx, or have
any elemental effects. (IE no flame nova that sets
a unit on fire)

Elemetal spell catagory;
The spell can use any elemental sfx, but it cannot use unit-models, ect. It must be either:
Fire, ice/water, lightning/wind, earth/stone.

Free spell catagory;
The spell can use any sfx model, and can do practicaly anything.

Advanced spell catagory;
The spell cannot use units at all (except the caster). It can only use special effects/lightning. No units at all. The spell must be flashy, the more complicated the code, the higher the marks.

Pure eye candy spell catagory;
Doesnt matter what this spell does or anything, purely eye candy (but it still must be multi-instancable, and relatively leakless)

Nova spell catagory;
This one is for the ever-popular nova. Nova must be original, not just some sfx created in a circle.

Well that concludes the catagorys. The deadline is:
Tuesday, November 29, 2005. I will not extend that deadline.

GL, and have fun! I hope to see some interesting stuff!

Entrants:
Nobody yet.

Another spell contest??Man this is insane,....
#3
Heh, theres always at least one, but they seem to shrink each time someone makes one... Ill be lucky if three people join :P.
#4
ah two questions, what do u mean when you say multi-instacable?
and what is gui?
#5
O_o.

What is a Multi-instanced spell?:
It is a spell, that can be cast by several units at the same time.

What is GUI?:
I dont know what it stands for. But GUI is... Well if you've used the trigger editor, and you make a trigger, the events, conditions, and actions are GUI. But if you convert the trigger into "custom text" it is no longer gui, but jass.

With locals, jass is basicaly the only way to multi-instance a spell WITH waits.

What is JASS?:
The handwritten (Handtyped more like) version of GUI, it has many features GUI doesnt, but is far less user-friendly. (Bye bye simple dropdown list :P)

ok then, im in :D
#7
Just a comment: GUI means Graphical User Interface. :wink:
#8
Not one entry....

I would join, save this:
Advanced spell catagory;
The spell cannot use units at all (except the caster). It can only use special effects/lightning. No units at all. The spell must be flashy, the more complicated the code, the higher the marks.

Dude... Why no dummy units? that's just lame... :x
And this just confused me:
Non-elemental spell catagory;
The spell cannot contain elemental-type sfx, or have
any elemental effects
. (IE no flame nova that sets
a unit on fire)

Elemetal spell catagory;
The spell can use any elemental sfx, but it cannot use unit-models, ect. It must be either:
Fire, ice/water, lightning/wind, earth/stone.

That's contradictory...
