Does Anime skins need that much detail?

I had look through the tutorials,but still don't quite understand tho. Anyway i want to make a animeskin..does anime skin need burn tool or dodge tool etc?

And how do i grey out the skin?(using channel mixer,curve,hue)

why?





of you dont need to put much detail on an anime skin

and yes, use dodge, and smudge...not the burn tool

anime skins dont need much detail, but they do need at least proper shading. one example would be the ninja models that black_stan made; they dont have a large amount of detail, but the shading is done well. I dont suggest you use a burn tool for skin, its makes the shading look bloody. to grey out the skin, simply use the recolor tool.

btw..whats the use of greying out the skin

and when i recolour,sometimes it doesnt give the exact colour..
