Unit stats

I've been working on this map now for a long while, and now it is almost finished. All I really have to do is set up the units and the heros. But I can never get it so it balances out... one side usually dominates the other.
Anyone got any tips?

Oh yah, its kinda like the Helms Deep map
(My inspiration to make this one) :)

Ah, yes, balancing. Welcome to the most difficult part of mapn making.

ALl I can ussgest is doing small unit tweaks, such as raising or lowering HP, armor ratings and attack speed/damage of units until the battles stop becoming one sided or predicable. If the opposite sides starts dominating every time, then you know you over tweaked, ect.

Or instead of changing units all the time, u can give the attackers/defenders more gold or wood.

The easiest thing is making the hp and dmg of the attackers and defenders all the same but the model different. It is kinda boring then but if u cant balance it u should do that. (like alot of oas type maps)

Well, one side has more variety of units than the other... so I dont think that making both sides have the same stats will work.

You see, its alot like the Helms deep map, so the orcs have varrious types of units to make, while the humans just have your basic units, like Archers, swordsmen, spear men, horsemen, and then their heros.

well when i try to do blancing ill have a max hero stats for heros (like 20) then i add them to str/agi/int.and u can raise the spell, like make it very weak at the begining and strong at the end
