Equip items

I already asked this question but I decided to ask it again. How can I make it so you have to put items on a special heroe to allow the items to add there effects to the main heroe. The equiped heroe does not receive the item effects however. HELP ME!

well, i think it isnt possible. if it was possible, at least one genius should have seen the thread and give help....

anyway, why do you want to have the effects on the main-hero? maybe we can find another solution for that? :?

I'll take a wild guess.

Do you want a visual special effect to appear on a unit when he picks up the item?

If you do, you need to copy the Sphere ability. Call it whatever you like.

Edit the effect model to what you want to see attached.
Edit the attachment point to where you want it attached.

You then need to assign the sphere ability to your item.

Probably best to use an Orb as a base item to study.

No no. I want all the item stats to go to the main heroe but the items to be on a different one. Sorta like a character equiping thing. I've seen this done before, it's in this D&D RPG map.

The only way to do that is through triggers. Just have an item that does absolutely nothing, and use triggers to add the stats to the main hero when your equipping units has that item. Hopefully you have a good knowledge of triggers. :)

New problem! I downloaded the Equip spell, and I had a problem importing the triggers into my map. It was all custom script, and I don't know custom scripting. It comes up with a number of problems when I try to test the map. Can someone try importing the spell into there map and then tell me what the problem is. If it's to hard to explain and would require me to edit it, then could you add it to my map?

Oh, and if you need to look for it, type in equip in the spell search.
