Models shouldn't have to be low in file size. If you make (yes, not rip) a nice model with lots of animations, and a good skin, that shouldn't hinder it form receiving an award.
DeadDogNoGoWoofyou would have had to download every single one of those models to find out if they had a portrait or not.
Isn't it moderator's task? And you don't have to download all models, just some models which you think are beautiful, to check whether it has portrait(or just portrait anim) or not.
yeah, of course the mods have the final word, but DCs are supposed to say "this model rocks"(well sorta), and rules for DCing can help mods make the right choices.
The fact is that this game's models are extremely low poly compared to other games latelly, so what you would call high poly is actually a model with a normal number of polys.
3. must be put some effort in modeling/skinning, so no simple geomerges etc.
DCs aren't just about how it looks, it's about every espect of the model
DCs are about how the model looks, because models are eye candy , no player cares about the other aspects of a model and models are supposed to be used in games not to be studied.

Sigh, you know what I mean, low poly and file size for wc3.

You can't really stop a model receiving DC for a portrait. You can add one in 5 seconds thanks to Magos.
