What is "Dota"?

Sry to sound noobish, but what is Dota aniway?

An über popular map in millions of versions. Half of the games in battle net are dota maps.

Well, I figured that out.

Can you please be more specific? Can you please explain this game? Cuz lot of people told about Dota but I have no idea what it is.

Have you not played any?

Two teams with their bases on either side of the map. Each players chooses side and hero and then fights and try to destroy the opponents base. The bases can't be controlled by players and they periodicly sends out units to join the fight.

I thought it was a game type (Like RPG, Action etc).

Dota is an AoS (Aeon of Strife) type map

It is a well designed map, two teams battle it out to destroy the opposing um main building so yea.
