Ranks?

How does one get ranks? I see people wityh "private" and "corporal" ranks attached to their names running about. Does it have to do with guilds?

They are PvPing in BattleGrounds, and get honour kills.

Basically, you gain ranks by being a certain level and killing other players. But for higher ranks you have deadlines and the such where you have to have killed however many worth of HKS in a week(example)

Honor system is more of a time=rewards thing than anything about skill. I wouldn't mind being a rank 14 for a week, but rank 3 is ok just for a 10% discount. The honor competition is just nill to even participate in.

To get in a battleground just go to a capital and ask a guard where the Battlemaster for Warsong Gulch if your level 10 - 19 or 20 - 29, ask for Arathi Basin if 30 - 39 and alterac valley if your 40 - 60, but try to be the highest you can be, there are different level groups to play on... Kinda hard to explain actually
