Now thats just insane. Atleast Europe isent as "infected" as USA. Here it is close to 50% dota, sometimes 25% on the good times of the day

If the map is hosted often than its a guarantee that people will try it at least once, problem is that very little amount of people can actually host games, and those who can, host (mostly) Dota, they probably don’t even check the map list.

That’s why I think there should be a hosting community/site/clan that will host the good maps.
Then the people who join those games will tell others about the maps (maybe ask them to host it if they can’t do it themselves)

Also, People who play Dota are not that retarded that they can’t play any other map, Dota did'nt introduce the "1337" thing, its those who play it.

I'm afraid viruses and map forums/ map creation wont work, mostly because they can re-dl the map and re-host it. Plus viruses would just make us look like f***heads we can make a better solution. I also think that creating new and better maps wont work because others wont follow sync if we play it. It's unfortunate that most dota players are playing cause they like dota and not because they want to follow suite.

It is also unfortunate that warcraft is reaching it's peaking point, or it will be at it soon if dota doesn't stop. If there isn't enough variety then all people will play is dota, and if not enough people play their maps. Mapmakers will leave warcxraft for other games.

I'm really sure that warcraft may be done soon because 2 forums that I have accounts on are inactive and are losing quality. Furthermore, the output of models and skins on this site is decreasing. There was a time when there were like 9 skins and 4 models every day. Now there are less then that in two days.

I don't think that there may be a solution to the ending of warcraft, everything does end eventually. Life is evolution and unless Blizzard upgrades warcraft with another expansion or the removal of the dota problem. I see that there be no way to stop the end of warcraft 3 TFT .

yes i know dota is taking over and it is a pain when u dont wanna play. but just think about it for a bit everyone. just think of how mad you are making icefrog (i think thats his name???) he made a good game. and the only thing you can say is how much its on the list. come on all you guys are map makers or would love to make a map that would be that popular (even tho like somone said there might have been like 200 games on that list to find a full row). u would just love it if you could make a map that popular. but then becuase somone who is bored of the game or plain just sucks or doesnt like it you got to look at it. if people dont like it then they wont play it. so there is a couple of options

1. play ladder never hurt u i know i do
2. host a game u dont have to play there games
3. do it the old fasion way maybe just wait for a game to appear or ask somone to host a game for you

im just like you some of the time i just dont wanna see any dota on the list at all. other times i dont mind. just try to get used to it. he made a good game people like it and thats that.

I do agree with this dota is getting overhand i mean i do enjoy playing it one or twice a day but not for like 8 hours straight. DotA is being played to much i remeber the time when i played and people would talk and laugh and just enjoy the game but dota is like all strictand mean they dont want you to leave (i.e)

East has some varity. Mostly DOTA I think i see some WMW and some Line Tower Wars. I dare to be different and host the good games like Star Trek.

The worst of all is that dota took spells, icons, skins from this site. People worked pretty hard to get their spell perfect working. What seems to be now :
Someone TAKES a dota map. He EDITED the hero's and ADDED spells and skins from this site WITHOUT giving the creators of the original spells/skins credits. (this is not hard to do, so why didn't he added the creators?) Dota wouldn't exist if this site wouldn't exist. But that worst of all is that only we (advanced map creators) can see this. Other noobs think that he created all spells by himself, that way is very easy and lame.
I submit, I'm working on maps I take spells and skins, icons from here. but AT LEAST I give these people their credits for working, its the last u can do..

Im from Northrend (europe) and I was asking my slef why do so many us people join northrend O_o... i was like: "wtf ?!?! don't they have US servers" but now i relised they are seeking refuge (lol) this might be the biggining of a rebelion with its base in europe...the most non-infected dota sv.

Dota changed the perspective in witch people play...i always played for fun. Id ask my friends to play with me a RPG so we can quest and teamwork or a defance so we can defande our base agains Hoardes of monsters and creeps. But people ask me "whats the fun in that ?" ...how can i awnser that ..they do not understand all they understand is they don't get score and extra cash for a kill.

My freinds are insane... I play enfo with them and always but always my friend "goten" has to kill more than me...if by any chance I have more kills ...he just has to run of alone so he can kill more... -.- he is a victim of dota.

Guys I sugest you come to Northend server then. Dota is about 20 - 30% most days here now, and we also have some exelent creative map makers like gadden .

I like escape maps personally, and so i make escape maps, but i'm constantly tryig to think of original ideas, and I am wroking on an original map at the moment.

I'd like to play a game with you on Northend anyway, VGsatomi, so if you ever go on northend be sure to whois james1653 .

I agree with james. Dota isn't super much played on northrend servers, but there will be always games of it.
I guess dota is a map that attracts all noobs of battle.net. Ah! Thats why some people try to play only with only one hero, and no units in a ladder game!

I see some of you asked which server that was. That was the USwest (Lordaeron) server.

USWest is the worst server of the 3 english speaking ones. I never really use that, been several months since I visited it and last time I did game list only showed Battleships - dota - footmen frenzy & risk. But ofcourse 80% was dota.

Don't you all see? People who play DOTA are so ban-crazy that they will solve the mass DOTA games for us! Bannings will increase as time goes on until soon... EVERYONE WILL BE BANNED FROM DOTA!!!

for the US east and US west servers, its too late, they are doomed to die, completly invaded by dota. BUT there is still hope, since northrend is the LEAST affected, if we all go there, host our 'better' maps there, it will become less dota-infected, people will play other maps on northrend, its a little hard but with a little patience u can host!!, and if all mappers host their maps on northrend, people will try them as most people cant host, they will join other games as most dota games wud either ban them or full!!
if it works(i think it will) it should save warcraft or atleast keep it goin for a few more years, in a map-friendly, non-dota infected enviroment! dota here is only hosted like.. 30 percent of maps)

Sigh...Your solutions aren't creative enough. Just make a game that looks exactly like DotA, and make the imba heroes' spells kill themselves instead of doing what they did before. Heh...Maybe I'm being a bit TOO evil

Oh well...It's worth a try. They want DotA? They can have DotA, a twisted, messed up DotA that better shows what DotA REALLY is.
