Is there anyway to order a unit 2 cast a cusom ability?

Is there anyway to order a unit 2 cast a cusom ability (not like entangling roots or anything, duh)?

when it says for example ( Night Elf Keeper of the Grove - Entangling Roots ) it will just order the unit to use the "entanglingroots" orderstring, so all spells with that orderstring will cast

But I thought a unit can only cast one spell at a time?

so dont have two abilities based on the same spell on the same hero.
