You know I need help!

I want to know how to make a new race for one of my malee maps if any one can help that well be great!

Hm, should a pc be able to control the race? If yes, this will be hard trigger/AI work.

At the moment i just want to get down the basics mabey if i get good i well ad ai but thats not my plan for right now

The esiest is to change an old race, change model files, abilities, names etc. of the units, just to get the basics of the object editor

well, it depends on your experience, it is very hard to build up a whole new race from the ground, but it is possible. I think you should check http://www.creep-rebellion.de.tf/ , it's a new race too, maybe you can get some inspiration...
