I might just be the only one who thinks this, but ive found that there is a huge lack of decent maps here. There is always the ones that stand out, (eg the Natures Call maps) but im getting tired of seeing hundreds of the same map being released with nothing but a new name, and maybe an added unit or two. Why aren't there many great maps? Are the makers just not paying attention to detail, or are they out of touch with what most people want?
Well, I just made a new minigame which stands out from most of the maps I think. Dodge the wisp wheels, survive in a small arena from the levels of wheels made by whips who randomly move around, if you get touched by one you die, you then have to use your abilities to survive.
The "random moving" part is original. Otherwise, primitive map.
As for the many maps: I agree in a way. If I had to answer why, I'd say its because of (I know Mods are gonna impale me with a rusty pickle slicer for dicussing it) the lack of protected or watertinted maps. Take LOAP for instance. Its a fun map (to some, anyway...) and un-protected. The result: Rip-off maps spreading faster than the great DOTA plague of 2006 something-E. I've seen all kinds of loap maps: SLNR2 and cloud, mario and pals, poop factory, lonely girl, Robot factory, god and death, military, and more. I even met with the maker of loap gold (The map that revolutionized loap) and he was as well, admited he ripped-off loap from the original maker, //\\//\\3t3orit3 (I recall that was his name), and made it popular.
I am in development of some complex maps I really would hate for people to copy and add junk to that ruins the map. All that hard work down the drain...

The random movement is the most original thing there (If you played and beaten "escape shroom world", you should remember the wisp wheel "spotlight" part.
100% of the time when someone makes a "the maps here suck" thread, its by someone who's never made a map. Since you've actualy made a map, I can now lower that percentage to 99.9%. Thanks.

ah yes, i read that a decent time ago. One of the main reasons i started this thread is because of a bunch of maps ive been putting alot of work into, but i wasnt sure if it would pay off
Ditto. Though production is slow, considering im doing all of em myself...
And yes, VG, I have made "maps" that I hope will never see the light of day again...ooo...
Be aware those were my first maps, where I learned to trigger and stuff though. I guarentee: my newer maps (WHEN THEY ARE FINALLY DONE AFTER ALL THIS TIME!!) Will be alot better.
