Im actually gonna join this community :D, its been a long time since i've been here other then occasional i like sharing my knoledge.

Linux is actually the most secure OS to date, compared to linux. Its 100% free, Very Nice Skins, I love the shell commands for linux, :D. I actually have 3 computers with linux, including one is a home server. :)

www.ubuntu.com is a nice start for linux users, Im actually creating a tutorial on www.bedadj.com about, "Introduction to Linux, and its wonders" It will give full readout on how to run binary files, ect. :P maybe i'll give classes online for free ;)

Edit: Forgot to say, if your looking for a alternative to windows, while still wanting to run windows exe's, just download wine standing for "Wine is not a Emulator" :)

actually linux is not the most secure OS, there was a study done that proved windows xp out of the box was more secure than linux at miminal set up configuration.

and to be honest Linux sucks.

Funny how the thread is going off-topic.

Dunno who made that study, but it's just wrong. Using Linux, you won't have any problems with viruses, spyware or other stuff like that (mainly because no one cares about writing viruses for Linux, you just don't hit enough people ^^). Concerning to servers or working in university, I prefer Linux because it's far more stable.

Anyway, for gamers, Linux isn't an alternative. It's just incompatible with most of the games and it's definitly not the most user friendly OS out there, no matter which GUI you're using. Although, imo, Win XP is a little bit too user friendly.

Wulfie why do you have Milkshape, Gmax, 3ds 6 and 7? And why do you have Milkshape and 3ds open?

pssst. How do you make things move along a spline in animation? Like a camera.
#54
i dont know how to use gmax and it crashes.
and maxv5 is too big to fit on my jumpdrive.
so i use v7 to model and anim and uv in milkshape.

spline anim? hrm.. i dont like those...isnt that the type that you draw a line path etc?

im not sure, i dont really use it or ever heard of it in awhile.

Why care about Gmax when you have 3ds? Why don't you do UV-mapping in 3ds?
You don't know splines? Yes they are lines that you can use for many things. Making NURBS.

psst how to make true smooth surfaces with NURBS? And what is NURMS?
