DaminonWhat?! Have I got all this wrong? Well it was 5 years since I last learnt about chromosomes. I thought males had 2 X and 1 y while females had 2 of them both. I'm very confused. I didn't like biology at school.

the organism with the most chromosomes i know is a plant with 1260 chromosomes

so if we now have a male (XY) and a female (XX), they now randomly give one of their chromosomes to their child >_> damn english is so complicated XD

as the female can just give a X, the child will have a X, now it depends if the male gives an X or an Y, so the chromosome pair of the child will be completed to (XX) or (XY)

well at least Y is dominant. black skin is dominant, red skin to, white and chinese skin is recesive (so if u have a kid from a chinese and a white person, it wont be white or yellow but mixed) right?

i dont know what its called in english, in german its called "natternzunge", maybe you can translate that somewhere, but i somehow didnt find any site which would have a translation to it

usually it should be a mix of the skin colors, as there is no dominant-recessive in skin colors (at least as far as i know), so if a person with black skin and one with white do you-know-what-i-mean, then the colors should mix too and wont be as dark as the black-skinned parent

the dominant-recessive system is used for blood types for example
here you get one factor from your mum n dad each, this means both of them give you half of "your" blood type, just like with the chromosomes and the gender, where your parents either give you an X or an Y

AA - bloodtype A
A0 - bloddtype A
BB - bloodtype B
B0 - bloodtype B
AB - bloodtype AB
00 - bloodtype 0

as you see, bloodtype 0 is recessive to all other factors, you can only get bloodtype 0 if both your parents have at least one 0 in their bloodtype, if not, start looking for your real parents
you can also see that the factors A and B dont use the dominant-recessive system, but cooperate to the bloodtype AB

Also the RH system affects the person. White people are who have RH- (lack of the Rh protein in blood). The rest of people (black, asian, hispanic) have it in their blood (Rh+)

Rh- is recessive and Rh+ dominant. If a black, asian or hispanic person has a child with a white Rh- person (most Rh- are whites. It's really unusual to be Rh- for other races) the kid comes Rh+. In short, caucasians are endangered species.

b - black
w - white

completely black person = bb
completely white person = ww

so now if black people mate they can just pass the factor for black, that means their children are black

the same with white people, they can just pass the factor for white

if now black and white people mate, they get mixed children...some kind of brown or light brown i guess
this children now have the factors bw, one for black and one for white

if those brown children get crossed by me again they can pass either the factor for black or the one for white
so...
if both partens pass the factor for black, their child becomes black
if both pass the factor for white, it becomes white
if one of them passes white and one black, it becomes brown like their parents

at least thats the theory and there are some other factors that play a role in it, so for example a person with the factors ww (completely white) can have a slight variaton in his skin color so he has almost the same skin color as a person with light brown skin

but no, if a completely white female has a child from a completely black man, the child will not have an as dark skin as his father
