Day of the Fish Modeling Contest

Darky28 is proud to announce the new DotF modeling contest!

In this contest you will be required to enter a totally customized Murloc model to be used in Joel Steudler's campaign "Day of the Fish". Here are the rules:

  • Your totally customized murloc should have some unique animations. Try and make it as human-like as possible while still making it feel like a fish.

  • If possible, try to add a hero glow to your hero.

  • Your model should be the color of the murloc in the The Day of the Fish's logo.

  • Submit your model by uploading it to the Model section's Day of the Fish category.

  • The deadline for submitting your model is August 1. 2004.

  • The prize for the contest is your model appearing in the Day of the Fish, your name in the credits, and your own custom user title!

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the contest.

Well, what are you waiting for? Good luck and get to work!

Should this model have hero-glow?
#3
Its a hero, so yes a hero glow would be preferable
#4
If the hero glow cannot be added, just follow a way to add it manually (WE Unlimited trigger example)
#5

hero glow

nah it can also be added using mdl editing try following the tutorials of mdl at modelers and animators section on wc3 campaing
#6

I dont have the tools

i will join but i need to need to find programs

Does it have to be a murlock that blizzard made and we just have to edit it?

Or do we have to make the thing from scratch?
#8
You can just edit it, but it would be better if it's from scratch. The point is that it looks good.

It's a modeling contest. Not a skinning contest. You wouldn't even be able to submit a skin, since you have to submit your entries in the models section.

erm, oz02, why does the model need to be a certain colour, when it is not going to be visible after someone skin it ?
I assume theres going to be a skin for it, otherwise it would be stupid.

Well, yah, skin is included, but he was asking if he could do a skin for the contest by itself.

Sorry for mixing anyone up.
#13
Hmmm or someone could do the model and send it to a skinner if he doesn' t have the skinning tools required, to do the skin himself.

Anyone else realise that this contest finished 19 days ago and yet only one model (by Evilwart-Dragon) was sumbitted in time (or at all for that matter)...
