well, anyways, trying to clean up the site as the new Maps Mod, i searched DotA in the maps section to find some stuff to remove. what i found was completely full of junk ( including WAY too many versions of dota ), which much of should b deleted in my opinion.
anyways, i would like some opinions here about some of those maps to delete, plz, as i dont want to have just one opinion on what stays and what goes

Well, my suggestion is that the site should have one version for every dota map.
Eg Imagine two submissions of the same map, v1.56 Downloaded 458 times v1.63 Downloaded 1105 times
Since theyre the same map altogether, use the v1.63 one and delete the rest, get the idea? That would be a very nice purge of the skill-less and monotonous maps called dota.
aye, i have mostly done that, but the problem isnt DotA itself, its the 2 million other AoSs on this site, some of which are ok, some not so, and thats what i need opinions for ^^
As much as I hate DotA, it is allowed on this site. we can't go deleting a whole map series simply becasue we personally dont like it (otherwise all the DBZ maps would be history). Keeping obsolete versions off the site is another thing (which I could have sworn I already done, so not really sure what you've been deleting).
If the map is really substandard quality, its gone. Plain and simpe. We simply no longer have the site space to accomodate every map. -VGsatomi
Delete all double versions of all the different maps there is, because there surely is alot that just spams out new versions without deleting the old ones. A way to stop this would simply be to send them a warning PM telling them to stop having several versions up of one map. If they then continue with this, ban them
i wasnt sayin i was gonna delete it left & right, but a TON of AoS's ARE substandard quality, and i was asking for help in my search for those that are ^^

k since we are (sort of) talking about dota i will say my opinion of it. Dota is a game played too much and it effects the brains of all the dota players to a high degree. I was playing a normal bnet game once and i picked a mountain king hero and he chatted: oh you took zeus hero. I was pissed at the stupidity. Though, the game of dota ISNT bad. i enjoy playing it (sometimes) but i play it as often as i would any map. Lets say a game like enmity campaign was as popular as dota and then some guy made the game of dota ( a new one, like as if noone had ever heard of dota before) people would like it. It just IS better than most aos's and that's why it prospered. And as for the fact that dota involves no skill, that's false. There are multiple 'secret' paths that allow you to sneak behind an enemy hero and to gank with 2 guys. Also, buying a gem of truesight IS strategy versus a windwalking clinks, right? I dont want anyone calling me a dota noob no0w cause i support it but it's the truth. Like it or lump it

Delete the older versions, keep only the recent version
Apply that rule to all maps as well and watch as the section is cleaned
That has already been done. The maps section is clean of multi-version obsolete maps and has been for a long time. I've gone through the maps section doing that god knows how many times. However some maps that is difficult to do with because I dont know who the original author is or which version is the original. Not really with versions, but varients.
Example: angel arena. got a lot of different varients of those...as soon as I know which was the original, the rest will go bye bye. -VGsatomi
actually, i just found about 15 versions of a game called DotG, but each had a different name, like "1", DotA new, or DotG, so i had to look thru the descriptions to find it out
