Making mobs cast spells

Hello all. Back with another question. I am curious as to how to make a mob cast spells. Lets say I take an Orc grunt and give him a custom spell that I created. I go into the editor and change the attack type to both attacks (1 & 2) and then put him on the map. When I run a test... all I see him doing is melee. I dont see him randomly firing off the custom spell. Is there something else that I am forgetting or can it only be done with chars that have both Melee and Spell attacks? Thanks for any help that you can give.

assuming that the grunt is controlled by a computer player, he will automatically cast the spell if he has enough mana and it is a situation where the AI would use that spell. otherwhise, you have to use triggers.

Yeah.. I see what you are saying. I created 2 Footmen and gave them the heal spell and attacked one. The second Footman would just stand there casting little heals as I was beating the crap outta the first footman. I wanted both of them to attack me but toss a heal every now and then on each other. Now that I think of it.. I could just increase the delay refresh of the spell and make it take alot longer to refresh for them to use... forcing them to melee until the spell is recycled. Thanks for the insight.
